This past weekend at Steve Lewis Subaru, my husband and I had the BEST car buying/leasing experience I could have ever imagined. We left yesterday completely thrilled with our 2014 Subaru Outback, and even had the BEST car buying/leasing experience I could have ever imagined. We left yesterday completely thrilled with our 2014 Subaru Outback, and even more satisfied with our buying experience. After a previously terrible experience at a completely different dealership (for a different car make) several years ago, we went to Steve Lewis ready to defend ourselves against the conventional high-pressure, careless tactics that car dealers are notorious for, but instead we found a legitimately pleasant, wonderful, caring team. Our sales consultant, Pete Lustenberger, was truly stellar and was amazingly low-pressure. He felt more like a concierge and car matchmaker than a saleman. I honestly believe that he cared about whether we were getting the right car, not just that he wanted another sale. He even let us test drive cars with our son in his carseat in the back (Cheerio dust and all that comes with young kids), and encouraged us to throw our stroller in the trunk in order to confirm that the car we were considering was really the right choice. Pete was also so patient with our need for all the details, with our millions of questions, and with our need to take time to really think about our upcoming car purchase. After three visits, Pete spent a total of 5 or 6 hours with us, without ever pressuring us *at all* to make the purchase. While we were cognizant of his time (and tried not to waste even a minute), Pete himself never made us feel like we needed to rush. It's also worth mentioning that Pete was absolutely an expert in Subarus. My husband and I are a well-informed, well-read, analytical couple, yet there were literally no questions that Pete was unable to answer. It was quite impressive, and so refreshing from our previous experiences with car dealers who just bluffed their way through the sale. While we only worked with Pete on the purchase, I also want to mention that the checkout process with Mary in finance was refreshing as well. While she did register surprise when we declined the maintenance package, Mary didn't pressure us into buying a boatload of extras (which is what we had expected, based upon our previous negative experience elsewhere). It was so nice to simply sign our paperwork and then go get to know our car while our plates were being prepared. I really appreciated the ease of that part of the experience! For the first time in my life, I *love* our car, had an amazing car-buying experience, and can say that I recommend a car dealer. Pete is a particularly wonderful consultant -- genuine, thoughtful, and helpful (and no pressure!) -- and the overall atmosphere at Steve Lewis is clearly awesome. They're a great team, and we're happy to give them our business! More
When I walked in the door for the first time the greeting I recieved was friendly and was not "pressured" to make a purchase that day. Doug took the time to listen to what I wanted in a new car and he showed me the options available. There was no hard selling and he allowed me time to think about my options. After a month I returned to make my purchase. When I picked up the car Doug took the time to explain all the features of the car and how everything works. I appreciate the time spent with me, ensuring that I was buying what I wanted, explaining the options, and not being pressured to buy a car on the first day of my visit. More

You first walk into the dealership and everyone is friendly and the dealership is nice. My sales associate, John, took care of me. He told me all about the car I wanted to buy and kept me on what was friendly and the dealership is nice. My sales associate, John, took care of me. He told me all about the car I wanted to buy and kept me on what was going on with the loan approval. They had to get a car from another dealer because I wanted the blue car. I love that they honor USAA car buying service. More

We had a bad experience at another car dealership and decided to visit Steve Lewis Subaru in January 2012. I was interested in a 2012 Subaru Forester XT. Gus Erskine came up and introduced himself and decided to visit Steve Lewis Subaru in January 2012. I was interested in a 2012 Subaru Forester XT. Gus Erskine came up and introduced himself and asked if he could help and our relationship began. He made us feel like we were family. He called and gave us updates on when my car would arrive. In came in February 2012 and I was thrilled. In August 2013, my son Armand Gamache came to see Gus for his purchase of his 2012 Subaru Impreza. Gus was very professional and helpful. Armand loves his car and agrees that Gus is the best Sales person. In October 2013, I decided that I liked the 2014 and came to visit Gus about trading my 2012 in. On December 23-I picked up my new 2014 Subaru Forrester. It took 8 weeks for it to arrive and was well worth the wait. I will never go anywhere else to purchase a car. Gus Erskine is an exceptional sales person and I consider him to be part of my Subaru family. We are a Subaru family. We have owned or do own 8 Subaru's. My mother-in-law is on her 2nd Outback. My mother owns my old 2002 Forrester. We currently own a 2009 Forrester XT and 2014 Forrester. We sold a friend our 1998 forrester which we purchased from Steve Lewis in Northampton and my son owns a 2012 Impreza. If subaru was not as well built as they are we may not be here to purchase any others. We had a 1986 Legacy wagon which saved our lives. A jeep ran a light and broadsided us-the legacy wagon was bent in half but we walked away with bruises and a broken arm. We love our Subaru's and will never go any where else for sales. More
Came to trade in my 1996 Subaru Legacy for a used Forester. The sales representative, Doug Bonafilia, patiently showed me the used options which were not very much less expensive than a new model. Forester. The sales representative, Doug Bonafilia, patiently showed me the used options which were not very much less expensive than a new model. Hence ended up purchasing a 2014. Doug and Myron Callender, took me through the trade in options and we settled on a price quickly. Both were polite and carefully took me through the details of the financial arrangements, Doug was willing to explain the various functions of the car, indeed, I probably should have taken advantage of his generosity as I have stumbled through some operations he was willing to explain aspect of the bluetooth function that I thought I would be able to learn quickly on my own. The registration, insurance and inspection work was handled quickly and without any problems. I am pleased with the car and very pleased with the customer service. Easily recommend this dealership to anyone interested in a Subaru, and happily recommend asking to them to talk to Doug. More
We owned two Subarus- a Forester and an Outback, so we didn't need to be sold on the great vehicle. Jesse and Steven were both incredibly helpful and low pressure. Knowledgeable, warm and respectful, we didn't need to be sold on the great vehicle. Jesse and Steven were both incredibly helpful and low pressure. Knowledgeable, warm and respectful, we didn't feel like we were being pushed to a vehicle we couldn't afford. Once our decision was made, Myron reviewed our options for financing and answered our questions fully with confidence and patience. It was a pleasure to work with a team that was well-versed in the entire process. From looking over cars, to registering our new Forester and even having our new vehicle inspected for us, the service from sales was excellent. We have worked with the service department in the past- equally strong. Their estimates are spot on and they have great hours in the service department. We will be back to buy another Forester in the future and to service our vehicles in the meantime. Give them a try- you won't be disappointed! More

They were able to trade for the exact color Forester I wanted and able to have it ready for me - even fitted with an added on remote start - in two days. Very quick turn around, and just in time for me to take home and show off at Christmas. Great place to buy a Subaru. More
We choose Steve Lewis Subaru due to proximity to our home and work. We were also able to use an American Express coupon to knock about $2,400 off the MSRP on a Subaru Outback Premium model. We did trade in and work. We were also able to use an American Express coupon to knock about $2,400 off the MSRP on a Subaru Outback Premium model. We did trade in an 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback with 169,000, but it had a fairly serious problems so they only gave us $100...but we figured they had to make money somewhere since we were able to knock so much off the MSRP. We looked at a few other brands and vehicles, but given the weather here in western Mass as well as the reputation and comfort of the Outback it was really no contest. We have a 2005 CRV which we love because of the height/visibility in traffic as well as the handling in winter/rough conditions. But when we parked the 2014 Outback next to the CRV, we noticed you sit at almost the same height. My only slightly negative comment about the Outback is that it is long (a full foot longer than the CRV) which makes it a snug it in our garage...but as far as negatives go, that is not much at all. Overall, shopping at Steve Lewis Subaru was as about as painless as buying a new car can be. More
