I have bought four cars over the past eleven years from Dave Hanks at Steve Lewis Subaru (three new Subaru Foresters (2003, 2009, and 2014) and one used Toyota Corolla (2009). He is a pleasure to work with Dave Hanks at Steve Lewis Subaru (three new Subaru Foresters (2003, 2009, and 2014) and one used Toyota Corolla (2009). He is a pleasure to work with, being both professional and personable. I would recommend him highly to anyone looking to buy a new or used car. More
John presented an honest, caring persona. He understood I was comparing manufactures and models. He didn’t pressure me into buying a Subaru but allowed me to make my decision based on the best product. I was comparing manufactures and models. My wife and I owned two Jeeps from Atlanta that weren't made for New England driving. I had been thinking about getting an 4WD/AWD vehicle for sometime. I have a huge hang up about going to, and dealing with, car dealers/dealerships. Honestly I hate the all the experiences I've ever had, however, the Steve Lewis dealership is a glaring exception to all of car dealers/dealerships. Honestly I hate the all the experiences I've ever had, however, the Steve Lewis dealership is a glaring exception to all of my prior experiences. Joe Clark and Steve Rivers are exceptional in customer service and sales. At no point did I feel the anxiety and tensions that I've experienced at other dealerships. It is nice to feel that the salesman are working to tip the scale in your favor instead of in theirs. More
I had been considering getting a new car since September. I settled on a Subaru, and then did not consider any dealership other than the nearby Steve Lewis Subaru dealership as I had had a great experience w I settled on a Subaru, and then did not consider any dealership other than the nearby Steve Lewis Subaru dealership as I had had a great experience with their service dept. last Dec. when my old non-Subaru car with an ignition cylinder problem needing replacement post-haste so I could make my vacation flight, they came through with flying colors. Then a neighbor with a 2012 Subaru was very pleased with her experience with their sales staff. So when my old car had yet one more major repair looming, I decided to go ahead and buy a 2014 Subaru through Steve Lewis Subaru. I had been reusing their new inventory online for several months, and I easily set up my appointment online, which was personally confirmed. My sales associate was great in helping me decide between an Outback and a Forester. He spent as much time as I wanted going through the choices I'd zeroed in on, doing the test drive, explaining the paperwork, etc. Then once I picked up the car, he spent several hours going through the features, demonstrating and then having me try them. He also has called back to see if I had any further questions and has offered talk with me anytime if I have any more. While I could have gone to a nearby metro area and possibly gotten a better price (as I had done for my old non-Subaru car), I decided to go to Steve Lewis Subaru because of their local reputation for service and non-pressure sales advice. Came in to Steve Lewis Subaru on a Black Friday looking to make a vehicle purchase. I had been doing a lot of research specifically on Subaru vehicles and went back and forth between pre-owned and new. I h to make a vehicle purchase. I had been doing a lot of research specifically on Subaru vehicles and went back and forth between pre-owned and new. I had chosen Hadley as a place to go since I was home for the holidays and my father was originally from Northampton, MA. I live in Manhattan, NY and had wanted a "pleasant" buying experience since this was my first car. I absolutely received that treatment and felt very comfortable with my sales associate, Steve Rivers. Upon entering the dealership, I met Steve, who was very helpful and quickly set us up on 2 test drives: The XV Crosstrek (which was the model I was most considering), as well as a Forester, which I had previously test driven at another dealership in Brattleboro, VT. On the test drive, Steve told us he was fairly new to the world of selling cars — and that put a bit of personality behind him — I knew he would be an honest guy with me. As I test drove the 2 vehicles, Steve and my dad had several chats about anything and everything, which gave me a chance to think things through and really get a feel of the vehicles without having to do a lot of talking. I wasn't being "sold" to the entire time, which I find annoying (I work in Ad Sales). I decided on the Crosstrek after changing my mind once, (originally wanted to choose the Forester, but wanted the roof racks included). I had Steve running around getting prices for both and he came back with an EXCELLENT price for the Crosstrek. I added the cross bar to the package since I do a lot of skiing. We then met with Myron and he was an absolute PRO and very thorough with the financing piece of it all — there were a lot of new things for me to learn and understand and Myron made the whole process very comforting. A HUGE factor for deciding to purchase at Steve Lewis, was the courtesy of delivery and vehicle registration down in NYC. This is an amazing perk that this dealership (and perhaps all?) do. My situation made it very inconvenient for them, but they made it VERY convenient for me, the customer. They even installed the cross bar for me. When they delivered it down, the entire process was so incredibly smooth that I was able to work while it all went down. The fellow that brought it down was a retiree who chose to do this as a side job because he likes to see the smile on the new customers face — I mean, incredible customer service here. My only complaints would be the following: We had to wait a bit (over an hour or so) to meet with Myron the business manager as he was pretty busy on that particular day. Also, they had the VIN wrong, and I had to come in to re-sign all of the paperwork. But to combat that, Myron came in early on his day off to accomodate and was very quick and thorough. It ended up not being much of a hiccup at all. Thanks to everyone at Steve Lewis Subaru for all of their help. Special shout out to the retired gentleman (can't remember his name - glasses, gray hair and very friendly) who drove the car into the city and into the Bronx (gasp) to the RMV. I recommend this dealership to any car buyer, but ESPECIALLY virgin car buyers such as myself, with all of the inconveniences that I have! More
