Hello. My name is Lindsey Sodikoff and I am manager here at Steven Toyota. Thank you for your feedback. I apologize in advance for the situation you have discussed in your review. I have had a chance to speak with all parties involved and I do understand that the sales managers were trying to get a "buy bid" from some of our wholesellers. I will say that Matt Francisco does not normally appraise the trade ins, my Used Car manager was off that day. I know that having a bad experience can put a bad taste in your mouth for the whole dealership and I am sorry this has happened. However knowing about these kinds of experiences can only make us better. I would like to know what I can do to make this better for you. Did we get you the actual figure we would buy your vehicle for? Did you really like the tC? Can I work up more figures for you? Please let me know what I can do for you. You can email me back or call me at 540-434-1400 ext 1141. I hope to hear back from you soon. Lindsey Sodikoff Business Development Manager

Mrs Sodikoff, I appreciate your prompt reply, however the fact remains that I will never do business with your company. I have written a formal business letter that you should expect to receive in the next few days that fully explains my side of the story as well as the ramifications of Matt's actions. As I told him, there is no reconciling the situation. I wrote the review to make the public aware of Steven Toyota's practices. Perhaps most appalling is that I found a similar review on edmunds.com this morning from several years ago. Unfortunately this implies that you and the rest of the management condone Matt's actions as it has obviously occurred before. As I explain in the letter the only other action I intend to take is to contact the MVDB. Thank you for your time, and again you should be embarassed, Tom

Hi Tom, Thank you for getting back to me. I do appreciate you telling me yourside of the story. I am sorry that you feel this way about Steven Toyota. There are always going to be situations that customers do not like and I apologize for you having one of these situations but as you can see we have had many happy customers over the last couple of years. I would like to make sure your letter gets to the right person, whom did you address the letter to? I feel bad that we can not make this issue any better. If there is anything we can do to make it up to you, please let me know. I hope to hear back from you soon. Lindsey Sodikoff

Lindsey, The letter is addressed to you, as I saw that you were the one who replied to online reviews. I felt you were the most appropriate recipient based off of this information. If you feel that I should address someone I can send them a copy as well. I just hope that this issue is not simply swept under the rug and is addressed appropriately. Once you have received my letter you are welcome to call me personally. I am curious to know how Matt feels about the situation in hindsight and how management feels regarding the situation after the letter is shared with them. Thanks, Tom

Hello Lindsey, I'm curious if you have received my letter and if you have if Steven Toyota had any type of response. If you have not received it I will gladly resend it as I was hoping for some sort of response from Steven Toyota other than stating you would like the opportunity to gain my business. For example, does Steven Toyota condone Matt's actions, is it a common business practice, does Matt and the rest of the staff realize the implications of such action and what, if anything, has been done to internally remedy the situation? I'm not implying that I feel Matt should lose his job, but again the ramifications of his actions are severe. I hope that everyone involved has a clear, concise picture of the events and I hope we are all on the same page. Thank you again for your time, Tom

Steven Toyota responded

Hello Tom, We did receive the letter and from my understanding Matt has been spoken to. We are going to be discussing it in our manager meeting tomorrow. We of course would love to have your business in the future. However I don't feel that we could make a good enough offer to get you to come back from all of the feedback you have provided If i am wrong please let me know, If you have a suggestion we would gladly consider it. Matt is going to keep his job. He has been with Steven Toyota for almost 8 years and is normally a very good manager. It just was an off day for him and he & I apologize for that. The older reviews you read was from a time of different management and maybe Matt learned a bad habit from them. We know that was not the right way to handle the situation and we are all learning and educating from that. we again appreciate all your feedback. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Enjoy this amazing weather, Lindsey

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments and feelings about our dealership on DealerRater.com. Even though your comments did not shine a positive light on our dealership, it is helpful to us in finding out where some of our weaknesses lie; whether in our personnel or our processes. We apologize for your experience and we appreciate your feedback. We hope for a future opportunity to make this right for you. You may contact me anytime.
