upsell, scam through autopay, try to lowball trade-in This dealership was doing a great job until the negotiating portion. I had a written offer for purchasing my trade-in. They lowballed by several hundr This dealership was doing a great job until the negotiating portion. I had a written offer for purchasing my trade-in. They lowballed by several hundred and blamed it on the fact that they'd have to "put some work into the car to sell it". Well, instead of moving on the price, they just complained. When I told them I'd be interested in an autopay option if the loan had it (because I was pre-approved for a good rate elsewhere with autopay), they signed me up for this bogus "SmartPlan" which guarantees an automatic debit payment. What they didn't tell me and didn't give me a fee schedule to show was that the plan charges you for every debit and charges an $399 'member fee'. Whatever money/interest you save on the auto debit, the actual plan costs you several hundred dollars more than you save. Never once was this mentioned that the autopay costed money either in upfront fees or per debit. Will never purchase from this dealer again and will surely make sure no one I know ever purchases from them either. More
