The cause of the problem was not identified. Proper diagnostic test was not performed. The service advisor tried to sell service instead and is not responsive to email or text. So first I had the car towed Sunday morning to the dealership, but it was closed, so the towing company had to keep it in their yard for a few hours. The service rep was very prompt Monday morning dealership, but it was closed, so the towing company had to keep it in their yard for a few hours. The service rep was very prompt Monday morning texting and telling me about the status of the car. He informed me that they didn't have the parts and they'd need to keep the car until Tuesday. Okay. I had to ask about loaners for him to tell me that they didn't have any. Then later I had to ask about Uber payments and he said that I could. But he offered neither but instead I had to ask, so that's a negative. Then on Tuesday I get a text saying "Thank you for servicing your vehicle with Steven's Creek Hyundai" and nothing else all day. Then on Wednesday I texted the service rep asking for an update and got nothing. When I called the service center I was sent to voicemail and left nothing. So I had to call sales and the salesman told me that the service rep I was talking to was sick, as if that matters. The job should've been handed off to someone else to coordinate and someone. being sick should have no impact on customer communication or the job getting done. And then Thursday at 4:51 pm I get a text saying the vehicle was ready for pickup. I picked up the car and it was fine. My wife noticed that the driver's side door rail (where your hand pulls the door closed) had greasy grubby hand markings. I had to scrub it for 10 minutes to get it off. It so happens that our light grey interior on our 2025 Ioniq 5 is VERY sensitive to getting hand prints. So maybe they could've covered it with paper before handling, kind of like some shops do with paper floor mats while they're working to protect the carpet. So it was not the best experience. I'm glad that our car is working now and I'll get refunded for the Uber trips, but the experience could've been better and I would've preferred to not have to clean up after them. More
