We weren't sure what brand we wanted even though we only buy Toyota's, and Tyler convinced us to stick with our gut. After finding the package we wanted, the rest of the process was very smooth. We were able to get a fair trade in and payment we could easily afford. Finance was very smooth, helped us get out in a timely manner and was very courteous. Would highly recommend this dealer to anyone More

The van was totaled, but the 8 airbags did exactly what they are supposed to do, and that experience gave us great confidence in buying another Toyota. Gary Borba was very helpful in showing us the various models that made our short list. Initially, we had planned to buy a slightly used vehicle. Gary was equally willing to sell us a used car or a new one, and he showed us several of each. We ultimately decided on a new vehicle. Since Toyotas hold their value so well, there was very little benefit to buying a 2015-2016 model over a 2017. Throughout the process, Gary was very helpful and informative, yet he was never pushy. Once we decided upon a specific vehicle, we did price it with a few other dealers, but most of them quickly became annoying with daily phone calls and emails. All the prices were very similar, so our decision ultimately boiled down to the salesman who was so helpful to us, so we bought our car from Gary Borba. Over the past 15 years, our family has purchased 6 new Toyotas, but this is our first purchase from Stevinson. We always begin our search at Stevinson, because it is closest to our home and they always have a large selection. However, on all previous occasions, Stevinson could not come close on price, so we bought the car elsewhere. With the continual expansion of the internet, I suspect it is very difficult for any dealer to sell an over-priced vehicle. Pricing parity is a good thing for consumers, but it forces dealers to compete on other factors, which is a new concept to some of them. While Gary was great as a salesman, the finance process at Stevinson was a complete pain in the xxx. I don't even remember the name of the guy we dealt with, as it was an experience I would rather forget. Having purchased many vehicles over the past 35 years, this seems to be typical of all dealerships. Once you have decided on a vehicle and price, they move you into a small room with a fast-talking salesman whose job is to sell you thousands of dollars of worthless add-ons. He talks very quickly and proceeds as if you had agreed to accept the options, even when you have clearly declined. We had to ask several times before they would even divulge the friggin' interest rate! Somehow they were able to quote a payment early on in the process without knowing the interest rate. This is completely unacceptable. At this point in the process, you are not in a position to evaluate the potential value of the various offerings. There were actually one or two items that interested me (e.g. bra protection film), but I refused to be pressured into an immediate decision, so I reflexively declined everything they offered. Now that we have the vehicle, I will evaluate the options at my leisure, and I will probably buy a few features from an after-market vendor. I realize the F&I department is pure profit to the dealer, and their high-pressure techniques are SOP in the industry, but this is what causes most consumers to dread the car-buying process. The worst part about the F&I pitch is that the salesman begins by telling you how crappy your new car is, which is why you need to buy the extra features. For example, they imply that "the vehicle security is very weak, and car thieves have learned how to hack your vehicle," which is why you need to buy this new-fangled security system. The first thing that comes to my mind is "if your security is so weak, why don't you fix it, since you clearly have the technology?" Similarly, they tell you that "the basic warranty doesn't cover anything," so you really need to buy the extended warranty. Again I ask, "unless you are selling crappy cars, why don't you already offer a better warranty?" While we waited 20+ minutes for our turn with the F&I huckster, I observed several young couples going through the process in a dozen clear cubicles, and I could not help but wonder how many of them were first-time buyers getting suckered into the over-priced add-ons being foisted upon them by a highly trained scam artist. Apparently, this process has proved profitable to dealerships, as they all continue to use it. However, I suspect that intelligent buyers might actually be inclined to purchase some of the extra features if they were presented up-front in an honest and transparent setting, rather then when you are chomping at the bit to get into your new car! To summarize, our experience with Gary Borba was excellent, but the F&I process sucked. This is not unique to Stevinson, just par for the industry. More

Bravo all the way around. More
