My mother had a check engine light come on her brand new car that she bought from this dealership 3 weeks ago. Luckily for her it ended up only being a gas cap issue, but the dealership decided to charge he car that she bought from this dealership 3 weeks ago. Luckily for her it ended up only being a gas cap issue, but the dealership decided to charge her 250 dollars for this fix (of tightening her gas cap). They then proceeded to question her about if she filled her gas tank before or if she used the right gas. Policy with any repair is to call the customer and confirm the problem and if they are okay with the charge for the fix. This dealership never did that, neither a call to my dad or mom, yet they claimed and wrote in their paperwork that they called my dad and confirmed it (my dad was farming and on a combine all day with no access to phone). This is the fourth Hyundai my parents have bought and they will never take it back to this dealership and if you are a female I would never take it to this dealership either as they will treat you a like you are an idiot and have no idea how to tie your own shoes. Super disappointing that companies this big still take advantage of their customers, especially the loyal ones. More

She takes the extra steps to make sure everything is completed, even sometimes going outside of what appears to be her job responsibilities to ensure a high quality transaction, and always does it with a smile and great disposition. Stew hansen hyundai is the worst dealership for service in des moines. I will only take my car there for service if it's covered under warranty. Their employees have zero empathy or respect for their customers. The service advisors never call you back when they say they will. They never fix my car the first time I bring it in for something. This time it's the knock sensor which is an issue I had 2 years ago that also too multiple visits. Another time, they replaced my battery with a faulty battery. The battery turned out to not even be the issue. They service advisors are defensive and only excuses that make you feel like you're the problem. The new service manager does the same. His solution was to find me the nearest hyundai dealership which is 94 miles and suggest I go there for warranty work since that can't do their jobs and refuse to make any changes in how they treat people or fix cars. Their solution to people who have a bad experience with them is to make them go away because to them, the people with the problem are the problem. They are in complete denial about any their customer service issues. To them, if the customer has a problem, the customer is the problem. So let's get rid of the customer. There, no more problem. The wall behind their customer service desk says 5 star customer service. What a joke! No person with an ounce of self respect could ever say their service deserves 5 stars. More

Their service center is a joke. I’ve had countless problems with them over five years. No one that works there seems to care that you’re there. The AdvanatgeCare package is supposed to provide an oil problems with them over five years. No one that works there seems to care that you’re there. The AdvanatgeCare package is supposed to provide an oil change, tire rotation, car wash, and full inspection. Half the time, they’ll Intentionally not give you a car wash and hope you don’t notice. Last time I had my car serviced, they decided not to rotate my tires and instead tried to get me to buy new tires even though mine had less than 28k miles on them. They completely exaggerated the wear of my tire tread. Their “inspections” have no consistency and are focused on embellishing minor issues with the intent of getting people to spend more money. These people are not honest, they all have terrible attitudes, and they proudly thrive off of unknowledgeable car owners. Oh, and they’ll also try and sell you a new car literally months after you just bought one from them. More

There was a slight issue with the tire rotation and I reached out to Alyssa and Troy (Service Manager), and the issue was resolved quickly and to my 100% satisfaction. They did things right! Didn’t have an appointment and they got me right in! At first, I went to the cashier’s desk looking to set up an appointment because I was overdue for an oil change. It was pretty late in the evening, around 3:30 so I was shocked they got me in and out with my oil change quick and fast. Would recommend Stew Hansen’s service to everyone.
