My husband and I were in town from Southern California in the Bay Area and were looking for a specific Hyundai Palisade that is hard to come by in our area. We not only drove from SoCal but an hour and a hal the Bay Area and were looking for a specific Hyundai Palisade that is hard to come by in our area. We not only drove from SoCal but an hour and a half from the Concord area to go see this car. I had scheduled an appointment on the phone 4 days prior, confirmed it via email 2 days before, and received a confirmation response via email the day before from Jacqueline Palomino that she would be there to show us the vehicle. I even called that morning to confirm the car was still there and hadn't been sold because I didn't want to make the 3 hour round trip out there if it wasn't. When we arrived we were about ten minutes late and checked in with Kandi who said Jacqueline wasn't in yet but she should be in soon and we could go look at the vehicle. We went to go find it on the lot and Kandi brought the keys out and let us look inside, etc. and answer as many questions as she could however she did tell us she wasn't in the sales department so she would have to ask someone else to answer a few questions. In the end Kandi ended up going on the test drive with us and when we got back we were happy with the vehicle and wanted to see if we could talk numbers and agree on a price. We asked her if we would be talking with Jacqueline but we never ended up even speaking with her. Kandi did all the negotiating, etc. which was fine as she was nice and helpful. We ended up agreeing on a price, did all the paperwork, signed our check over, etc. This all took quite a while because we ended up waiting about 3 hours for our car to be ready to take home with us. Unfortunately when we test drove the car etc. it was covered in dust/dirty from sitting on the lot so we couldn't see some issues it had on the exterior. Once it was clean (still lots of water spots and not very detailed in my book) Brian helped us with the car because he was helping Jacqueline out when she was busy and we noticed a door ding and some major scratches on the hood where they said the white stickers from transportation damaged it from sun so they would take it to the back and try to buff it out. So we went to lunch because at this point it had been about 4 hours at the dealership. When we got back about 30 minutes later the hood looked better as you didn't notice it at first glance as much but it definitely still had the scratched below the surface because you could still feel it and the door ding wasn't going to be able to be fixed. We had asked if there was anything they could do for it as far as money off or delivering the car to us in 1-2 days after the door ding was fixed but they were unwilling to do anything monetary because they said our deal was already a steal and they had too many people delivering vehicles because of COVID19. In the end we spent a total of 5 hours at the dealership and we decided to walk away from the whole deal because if I'm buying a new car I don't want one that is damaged in my book with nothing to show for the damages. Looking back, we were extremely disappointed in the level of service at this dealership. They knew exactly when we were coming with confirmation of times along with the fact that we were coming from SoCal to see it, etc. and the car wasn't ready to be shown (dirty on the outside etc.) and Jacqueline didn't show up and we never even met her or received an apology for not showing up. The people we came in contact with were kind and helpful but it was a waste of 5 hours and a complete disappointment as well as a lost of sale for them in my book. We absolutely loved the Palisade and would have purchased it that day but it ended up working out for the best for us because we ended up purchasing a brand new Honda Pilot for a great deal a few days later from Concord Honda working with a salesman who gave us a complete opposite experience from Stockton Hyundai. Please do work on your customer service as it does go a long way in the end. More
