BAIT AND SWITCH Was told by a Sales Manager (above a simple salesman) that I could write a check which they would hold until my bonus came in 6 weeks. No problem, th Was told by a Sales Manager (above a simple salesman) that I could write a check which they would hold until my bonus came in 6 weeks. No problem, the Sales Manager swore. So after spending days test driving many cars, I chose one. BUT apparently the many "Sales Managers"(of which there are aplenty) have no authority-- they get you in front of the Finance and Insurance (F&I) guy, who can totally ignore everything you've been told by anybody associated with the dealership. He then quotes the (unseen) General Manager saying no way they can do that.. Of course they can "finance" it (big profit for dealership) but then they want $3000 down. And they act surprised that I don't sign! This "dealing" been going on forever-- make you an offer you can't refuse, then take it away. SUGGESTION: Record everything they say. No, you cannot leave it to "trust". Record it, then wait for the F&I guy to kill it, while saying the lower down guy should not have made the promise. Then threaten to sue-- the Sales Managers represent the dealership, which should be required to follow through on promises. More

It was very professional. They did not try to talk me into something. They answered all of my questions I had. And most important to me is they did not try to "trash" other dealerships. That shows me how professional someone is. They gave me a great deal on my new car and on the other hand they also gave me a great price for my old car, so it was not worth to try to sell on my own. Ed, Steve and Layne you are all wonderful people to work with! And I would highly recommend Stokes Honda if you are looking for a "new" or "new to you" car. Call and make an appointment with Ed!
