I needed a new car because my old one - a Buick - although running well, was 13 years old. I did not want to worry about something going wrong. My son-in-law has always had good luck with Volkswagens and likes the sales team at the Stokes VW dealership in N. Charleston. He had made previously made purchases there. He offered to go with me to make a purchase because I am not that savvy about cars. Mostly I want something dependable to get me from point A to point B with no problems. Jason was our sales person and did fine job of presenting the Jetta I bought. He went for a test drive with us and explained many things about the auto we test drove. He was pleasant and informative without being at all pushy. I felt very comfortable with this very nice young man. He has been very helpful throughout the whole process of purchasing this Jetta. I am very pleased with the performance of this Jetta so far as I have been driving it. More
Clarence Nelson was very honest and did not use high pressure techniques to make a sale. He was very forthright in what he could and could not do for us. The used car had some minor dings, a few dents, some paint scratches and a fallen headliner, although the car was "as is" Clarence was able to get all the work done (the headliner outsourced) at a very low price, $500.00 in all, a fraction of what others would charge. This was added to the deal for the total price of the car. Whoever did the body work was not happy with the final outcome and asked if we could bring the car back to get it to be perfect (new car look). I am very satisfied with the work that was done and I would highly recommend Clarence Nelson if you are making a car purchase. Clarence, If you are reading this....Thank You!! I had such a wonderful experience with Stokes Volkswagen. I went to buy my very first car and the staff was so friendly and helpful!! Jason approached me within 2 minutes of arriving at the dealership and he I went to buy my very first car and the staff was so friendly and helpful!! Jason approached me within 2 minutes of arriving at the dealership and helped me pick out the car that I thought I wanted. After a lot of negotiations, he showed me the car that would be my very first car, in the pouring rain even! He was very patient and very thoughtful. What a great first car buying experience! He even drove my new car home for me while I drove my old car home so that I would be able to have my new car that same day! Thank you so much for everything!! More
We had a wonderful experience working with Clarence! We originally went in to look for my husband a car and we bought a Passat for him. While there I fell in love with the Tiguan and Jetta, but left withou originally went in to look for my husband a car and we bought a Passat for him. While there I fell in love with the Tiguan and Jetta, but left without either. Within two weeks, we were back and Clarence found us a great deal on a Jetta that had everything I wanted. We took it home that day and I even sent a coworker to see Clarence. He loves his new Passat. I would recommend to anyone. More

As a parent you always want to be there for the guidance and protection of your child. For several months my daughter had been looking to purchase a car and was adamant that Saturday would be the day she be and protection of your child. I was greatly concerned and fearful that I could not be there and she would be taken advantage of. I am pleased to say that none of my concerns nor fears became reality. When she called to tell me about her new purchase and her experience I could hear both joy and pride as she said, " Mom I just bought a 2013 Jetta, with great payments, mileage.....!" Clarence and the management team were excellent with my daughter. Clarence and Stokes Volkswagen, thanks for being a dealership a mother can trust with her child. More
Purchased a used vehicle from dealer. In our purchase agreement we were guaranteed a professional full detail for the vehicle and touch ups on a few scratches. We are pleased with the vehicle itself, however I can tell you that we are completely unsatisfied with what they call "detailing." I was told that we could not make an appointment to have the touch-ups done because the guy only comes on Thursday mornings and they don't know how long he will be there... WHAT?! So I had to call several times to make sure he was there. THIS is NOT service. They should have made a appointment around our schedule (which was pretty open) to have these things taken care of, not give us some wishy-washy time frame. Second, the "detail" was unacceptable. There were literally leaves in between the back seats still. Unfortunately my husband had to go to work, so he just took the truck and left. When he got home I looked at it, and although they did a mediocre job washing it, the inside was horrible. Crumbs were still in the compartments and cup holds. Leaves between back seats. Seats that weren't even vacuumed much less touched. So disappointing. Will be sure to let other know to stay away from here. More
I took my car in for its routine 30k maintenance and courtesy wash on a Wednesday. As I was walking up to pick up my car the first thing I noticed was my car was dirty. Then I saw a nice size dent right in the back of my car. When I told them what I had found they were quick to set up an appointment for the next day to fix the dent and fully detail my entire vehicle. I was very relieved that they were handling the problem easily and, so far, professionally. The next morning I bring my car in and they gave me a loaner which is great when your car is in the shop. Around 3pm they call me and say their detailers had changed their hours without telling the maintenance department but they will be in tomorrow. They tell me to keep the loaner overnight and I can pick up my car tomorrow. The next day, lunch comes and goes with no word from Stokes so I give them a call at 1pm. They ask if they can call me right back as the office is busy right now. An hour later they call and tell me they are working on the car and it will be done soon. Finally at 5pm I get a call but now they tell me the detailers couldn't finish the car and I'll have to pick it up tomorrow. It is now Saturday, two days into the holiday weekend, and I still don't have my car back from a simple oil change. Stokes VW calls at 1:30pm telling me the car is ready for me to pick up. I drive over and walk inside to sign for my car. The attendant immediately starts explaining that the detailers never showed up so she just had the maintenance guys clean the car. And in her words it should be ok, "because we aren't charging you for the dent repair or car detailing." Well I am so glad that you aren't charging me to repair the dent that you put into my car (which after three days still isn't completely fixed) and that you lied to me that my car was being worked on. The maintenance guys who "detailed" my car left large streaks of polishing compound and/or wax all over the vehicle. There was a muddy foot print on the back seat and there was still dirt on the console and in the cup holders. On a good note they really made sure the tires were very nice and shiny. Thank you Stokes Volkswagen for your carefree maintenance. However, I am not so sure it is me that is "carefree" with my vehicles maintenance as it is your employees and maintenance technicians. More
