They are slimy, dishonest and are happy to try and scam Toyota owners. Once the problem was discovered I called the dealership where I purchased my vehicle and they offered to do the service for half the price. I guess the fact that I am in the market for a new sequoia matters to them. I will never step foot in those dealership or service dept again. Attn females this place thinks you are stupid and will try and rip you off and make up problems that don’t exist with your vehicles. It doesn’t get much more pathetic then that. Please let Rupert know he should go work for another dealership I will not purchase from him or this dealership ever. And to Mark and Kevin in service. On two separate occasions, I've experienced problems after taking my car for service at Stone Mountain Toyota. On the 1st occasion, when they were at the old address, someone stole my car charger out o after taking my car for service at Stone Mountain Toyota. On the 1st occasion, when they were at the old address, someone stole my car charger out of the glove compartment in my vehicle, after my vehicle was moved from the waiting area to the service area. Whoever the thief was, went in the glove compartment, then into the "Quick Charge Kit" which came with the vehicle, and stole the "6ft lightning cable". At the time, the dealership also had a big sign up which said that they are not responsible if your items get stolen. I then reached out to Toyota.com, and they were gracious enough to send me a replacement. Fast forward to July 3, 2023. I went back for another service appointment. My 2016 Toyota Corolla vehicle had approximately 28,000 miles. The service technician told me that my "steering fluid and coolant levels were low", and that "Toyota recommends a coolant flush". Ok, I finally agreed to get the recommended services. The next week on July 14, 2023, I opened my car trunk, and noticed a strange piece in the trunk, but couldn't at first tell what it was. Then I looked up and noticed some wires exposed under the trunk lid. I've never seen that before and stood there trying to understand what I was looking at. Then I noticed the other side of the trunk lid had the same piece, but it was attached. It was then that I realized that the piece that I was looking at, had been removed by someone. It could not have fallen out, because you have to exert force to remove it. So, I went back to the service department July 15, 2023, and told them about the matter, and was referred to the Parts dept. Brandon came outside and looked at the issue, and determined that someone did remove it, and that someone had also placed the cable wires back incorrectly. He also said that those wires are for the "brake lights". Brandon then placed the cable wires back in correctly and snapped the piece back in place. He also noticed that the left piece was loose. Whoever had removed the covering over the cable wires, had damaged the cover on the left side of the trunk lid. I thought that when they did the "14 points inspection" that maybe that was the reason they needed to go in the trunk. However, I was told that they do not need to go into the car's trunk to perform the services they did on my vehicle on July 3rd. So, what happened in my trunk?? I'm the only one who drives my vehicle! Neither have I had any other service done to my vehicle since then, as was suggested by the manager on duty July 15th. Anyway, the manager on duty said he has "ordered a replacement cover for the left brake light cable wires, and it will be here Monday July 17th". WHY did someone go in my vehicle's trunk and mess with the "brake lights cable wires"? Did they mistake my vehicle for another customer's vehicle who needed brake lights service?? Was the technician upset that I declined the coolant flush at first, and then changed my mind AFTER they had already taken my vehicle back to the waiting area? I hope that nothing else was damaged in my vehicle! I've had my vehicle since 2016 and have been to other Toyota dealerships, and I've never had any issues with my vehicle after they service it. I don't know what's going on at Stone Mountain Toyota. The only thing that happened at another Toyota dealership service center was in 2021, in Newburgh, NY, and the attendant/cashier lied and said that my 2016 vehicle with 15,000 miles needed to have "struts" replaced. I declined the service, and of course took my vehicle for a 2nd opinion somewhere else. Plus, I also researched it online and called Toyota for guidance. Toyota said NO I did NOT need "struts replaced", and my research online confirmed it too. It's now 2023, and no other dealership has recommended that the "struts" be replaced. I hope that this matter will be resolved soon, and that nothing else has been damaged in my vehicle! More
