I bought my Subaru at this dealership back in 2006, and moved from the area a few months later. While back in town of Spring 2011, my car wouldn't start and it was in the plaza across from the dealership. More

Subaru of Keene is a wonderful dealership! As a young, single woman, used-car shopping was turning out to be a horrific experience until I came to them. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and I never More

I am fairly new to the New England area and wasn’t familiar with Subaru of Keene until my bank manager recommended them. She knew I was in the market for a new Outback. She said it was worth the extra More

Buying a car can be an exhaustive, stressful experience. Car dealer salespeople do not have the best reputation. I felt the sales staff was respectful and listened to my needs re; a new vehicle. The overall More

We found our experience with Subaru of Keene to be very relaxing and friendly. This dealership has a very knowledgable team. After owning Toyotas for 20 years, we were very hesitant to buy a Subaru. Mich More

Subaru of Keene responded

PLEASE DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER We are very sorry the customer did not understand the explanation we provided about Mass Sales Tax credit and was less than satisfied with their vehicle purchase. The deal never changed on the price of the pre-owned Forester her son purchased, trade-in value of the F-250 truck or the out the door price. At issue is the $600 Mass sales tax they will have to pay when they register the car. She was informed prior to picking up the car that the registration on the trade-in vehicle would NOT be a valid transfer for a tax credit (cost of the car being purchased less the trade-in value) because the vehicle being traded in was not registered or titled to her or her son. (Mass will not give a tax credit to someone who never originally paid the tax.) The issue came up again at closing and we offered to cancel the purchase. They elected to go forward with the purchase. There was no mistake made – just a misunderstanding about how Mass sales tax would apply to their unique circumstances. Had the vehicle been purchased and registered to the party who owned the F-250, the sales tax credit would have applied. We have remained in contact with her son who loves his 2004 Subaru Forester XT.
