My rear ball bearings needed to be replaced on a 50k mileage 2018 Impreza. It cost $1600. During that time and the diagnostics they failed to tell me that there was a recall on my car lights. A day after this work my tire pressure sensor started flashing, and each time until the gauge remains on. When I took it back to Subaru, they told me not that they will do a recall item for my lights, but that the tire pressure sensor has low batteries and it will cost more than $800 for the cheaper batteries to be installed. It was a COINCIDENCE that the batteries went bad the day after working on my wheels. This is not a coincidence to me, and it made me lose trust in what’s happening with my car at Subaru. More

I used to be pleased with this dealership service department until after my last oil change. I requested that they check one of the windshield washers, as one was not working. The inspection showed that the malfunctioning washer needed to be replaced at a cost of $99. I also needed new rear wheel bearings, at a cost of $1700+. They did not have the part for the washer, so I would have to come back for that…thankfully. I choked on the price of the bearings, and would have to hold off on that for the moment. I went to Aldi right after that and found that 3 quarters were missing from my “Aldi quarter case”…not a big deal, but it left me with an uneasy feeling. When I got home, I decided to try to treat the windshield washer with some vinegar, and magically, it works again…no replacement needed. Now I’m feeling more uneasy. I decided to get a second opinion on the bearings, so I went to another Subaru dealership and they also said the bearings needed replacing…this time as a cost of $1400. I asked them how they are so much less expensive than Subaru of No. Tampa & they said it’s because SNT is corporate owned & the dealership that I went to for the second opinion is privately owned. I told them I would not be going back to SNT & they said that many people have told them the same. I did get the bearings changed & my 10 year old Forester runs smooth like new again. The only reason I gave 2 stars and not one is because I like the people in the service department at Subaru of North Tampa. More
