Initially I was frustrated with a used car I purchased at this dealership due to several electronic issues that sprung up after purchasing the vehicle late last year. Big disappointment on engine pulled for my 2003 Baja. This major engine work was to correct major oil leaks and blown head gasket after 287K miles. Replacing engine mounts was part of the planned replacement. I made it easy for the repair and directed all repairs to be with new parts. I wanted, expected, and was looking forward to an almost rebuilt engine. This was made clearly at least 4 times; with the mechanic in form of text message, parts manager (Joe Manko) in text message, in person on a Sunday knowing Joe Manko was working to reinforce replacement of the engine mounts and putting back new parts, and finally when vehicle was ready for pick-up one month later. This was always my plan and I even looked forward to spending $6300.00 with engine mount replacements included in the pricing. Upon ready for pick-up, I texted again about the engine mounts. The reply was the parts were 2-weeks out. I knew then the engine mounts were not replaced. Stopping in person to change out the vehicle loaner and pick up my Baja, I explained that I could not have made it any clearer on my expectation as the consumer. I do not know how there was miscommunication, but it went out the door along with the parts manager whom seemed to be no longer employed at Subaru North Tampa (Joe Manko). My personal feeling is I was deceived completely when my communication was clear and complete. I am easy and willing to pay big for the right repairs. There is history with Subaru North Tampa for other big repairs. This experience was misleading to me. This was a very poor experience. My expectations were high and value on quality dropped with Subaru. If the repairs were incomplete, why tell me my Baja was ready for pick up. It is shameful from Subaru! Jake Smith is now taking over my service needs from now on. He has told me the engine mounts are on order and no labor charge for replacement even though I already paid and shown on my receipt. I am still waiting 3-weeks now for the engine mounts. As the consumer, I paid for the full engine replacement for parts and service and it was incomplete. It was ideal to replace when the engine was out but it was not done per my many requested demands. Now, I also have some seepage where I expect zero leaks. Please look up the amount of money I have spent at this dealership on my 2003 Baja. It would seem easy to buy a new vehicle but that is not what I want. Please fix my 2003 Subaru Baja and make this right! My plan next is to write a letter to the Subaru CEO of North America and let him know of my poor experience at this local Tampa dealership. More
