Working with Rob Veneri was great. I came in to the dealership about 4 months before I ended up with new lease. My first visit was a discussion with Rob, as well as a test drive. He was friendly and helpful, but I was more curious than anything else and wasn't quite ready to make the purchase. I visited several other dealerships that day, but, as the weeks went by, only Rob stayed in touch. He kept me apprised of new offers and specials available, and he gauged my interest without being pushy or bothersome. So when I finally WAS ready to buy, Rob and Suburban Chevrolet were at the top of my list. As we began going through the process, I was struck by Rob's flexibility, his willingness to work around my convenience, and especially his willingness to use tools like text messages and email to make the process go smoother. Every other experience I've had with buying cars from dealers were always cumbersome, time consuming affairs, filled with long waiting periods, ridiculous amounts of paperwork, and several hours spent sitting around a dealership. By emailing various documents, texting each other on progress updates, and filling out online forms, we were able to take care of the obnoxious stuff beforehand and, as far as I can tell, to significantly reduce the most annoying aspects of buying a car. But what I appreciated the most was Rob's demeanor. The perception about car salesmen is not really a myth, in my experience; they can be super aggressive and condescending. Rob, on the contrary, was appreciative and humble, and well informed about his products. I never felt like he was trying to get over on me or sell me something I didn't need. After I explained what I was looking for, he simply tried to get me the best price available, with little to no hassle on my end. I certainly recommend to anyone tired of the typical car-sales experience that they give Suburban Chevrolet (and Rob Veneri especially) a visit. More
