Very unethical and lacks integrity at this dealership. On February 26, 2025. Two days prior, I responded to an online advertisement for a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer listed at $37,889. I was contacted by a sal On February 26, 2025. Two days prior, I responded to an online advertisement for a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer listed at $37,889. I was contacted by a sales representative, Wayne (also known as Wagdy), who inquired about a trade-in. I informed him that my current vehicle was not in drivable condition due to a leak. He assured me that I could text him the vehicle details and that the dealership would arrange for it to be towed once I selected a vehicle. On February 26, I visited the dealership and made it explicitly clear that my trade-in still needed to be towed. I was reassured multiple times, including by the finance manager, Zach, that everything discussed would be honored. However, during the finance process—after hours of waiting—I was presented with the contract on a large tinted digital screen, without a clear breakdown or discussion of additional charges. At no point was I asked if I wanted to include window tint, warranties, or any optional services. Upon reviewing the contract at home, I discovered I had been overcharged by over $12,000 on the vehicle and nearly $15,000 in unauthorized add-ons. Furthermore, the trade-in was included on the contract but the dealership has refused to retrieve the vehicle, despite verbal and written indications otherwise. When I returned to the dealership the following day, my concerns were dismissed, and staff members claimed ignorance of the trade-in, despite its appearance in the documentation. I returned again on February 28 and was ignored for hours in the lobby. When I did speak with Zach, he provided no solution, only scheduling unrelated services. I was denied access to the General Manager, who was reportedly “on vacation” or unavailable. Most recently, on May 9, I returned again and spoke with representatives Lynn, Miguel, and Conner. I was once again told there was nothing that could be done, and that “I signed the contract.” This lack of accountability and customer care is unacceptable. I also have a voice recording from the lender, Suncoast, confirming the trade-in payoff was included and should have been completed by now. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but have not received a meaningful response despite waiting over 15 days. I seek a peaceful and fair resolution to this matter without escalating it legally, but I am prepared to pursue court action if needed. I respectfully request the Florida Attorney General, FLHSMV, and the Chief Financial Officer to investigate this matter and provide guidance on how I can obtain restitution and ensure that Sun Toyota is held accountable for their deceptive business practices.
