My nephew from Santa Barbara needed a car while still attending College. So off to the car lots we go! After visiting several dealers in the SLO area and one in Paso Robles we headed over to Sunset and we got treated fairly and professionally. Not only did we get a great deal, but great service again from Chris Nicol in finance as he took his time and explained all the nuances to my nephew who is studying business and finance in college. Greg Hargis the product knowledge slash sales professional did not try any of the crap most car sales people try. Straight forward information and prices as he explained the difference between models, no over sell or BS, thank you Greg. Can't forget David Idell who helped us in the beginning when we visited a couple weeks before as we were on a product education hunt that included the benefits of buying a "Certified" car vs a used car. For over 10 years we have put our family trust and safety in Sunset Honda and they have delivered every single time. They treated us with the most upward of respect and delivered on every promise. what customer follow-up went to dealership to possibly think about a different type of car then what we were used to, salesman greeted us and took us to look at a possible al went to dealership to possibly think about a different type of car then what we were used to, salesman greeted us and took us to look at a possible alternative, thanked him, took his card, he took both our names and numbers, and would get back to us in a couple of days, when i got home i decided to check out the costco auto program, entered everything and it show'd sunset honda as the local costco pricing dealership, within minutes, we rec'd emails and phone calls from 3 different salespeople claiming they were the costco pricing person at sunset. we just randomly picked one of the names, called him, he gave us a price of 950. over dealer invoice and also promised to call us in a couple of days.. i decided to call santa maria honda and gardena honda(gardena was a dealership i have been dealing with since living down in so ca)l, anyway sm honda gave us 200.00 over invoice, and gardena said right at invoice. my wife went back to sunset just to test drive the car, and the original salesman did not even know who she was, also the salesman who was the supposed costco person to this day has yet to call me back and it has been over a week. moral of the story, to be a good salesperson remember who your customers are and what you promised to do, otherwise.......who is sunset honda, i don't remember talking to them. We purchased a 2014 Honda CR-V that my wife just loves, thanks to Travis searching for the exact vehicle my wife was looking for. We were ready to purchase a new Buick Encore the night before. But for the attitude of the sales manager at that particular dealership, we would be driving an inferior car today. We were treated like friends as soon as we walked in the showroom. No high pressure, just a very enjoyable buying experience. We also know we got an excellent price after checking many websites and pricing other vehicles. Although I had near perfect credit, I was having trouble getting a loan due to having very little credit history. We came in to talk about our options with Ken Janes... And we were not disappointed. He really worked wonders (along with Hank Meas in Financing). We drove off the lot in a brand spanking new Honda Civic, and I have been giddy ever since we signed the paperwork.
