Instead of "selling" me a car, he asked what I was looking for and what I really truly needed. It did take a little bit of time, but he worked with me to make sure I left with the car that was perfect for me! The only way to actually know what is available and how much the car will cost is to go to to 4 or 5 places in town to check out what they have. So I did. My mistake was trying to go to all of them in one day. By the time I made it to Suntrup and talked to Joey, I was pretty tired of the B.S. Haggling for a fair price is like pulling teeth. So, looking back, I feel kind of bad about how I started off the conversation with Joey. The first thing I did when we met was to shake his hand and tell him not to waste my time. He looked a little shocked at how blunt I was, but he warmed up right away. I told him what I had to deal with at the last four dealerships, and he said he would be up-front about pricing. Remember how I said I did my homework? Well, that's true. Except, Joey was able to give me way more information about similar cars to the one I was originally interested in. So even though I went in looking for a Corolla, I left the dealership interested in an Elantra. I'd like to tell you that I bought the car right then and there, but I like to do my research. So after wasting about two hours of Joey's time, I left without buying anything. Instead I went home and did more research on the Elantra. Turns out Joey was telling the truth - the price he quoted me was fair and competitive. So I went back a few days later and bought my Elantra. I don't regret it one bit. If you want to find a good car that fits your needs at a fair price, then talk to Joey. He won't waste your time. More
