What began with Bill Suntrup opening the first dealership in the 1960s has blossomed into a multi-generational, family-run automotive empire. Just a decade after Bill launched his first dealership, his brother Don joined him, and together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Suntrup Automotive Group.

Bill's sons, Chris and Tom, are partners in Suntrup West County Volvo, with Tom also serving as President and CEO of Suntrup Ford Kirkwood, Suntrup Buick GMC in St. Peters, and Suntrup Ford Westport.
On the other side of the family tree, Don’s children, Butch and Craig, are proud partners in Suntrup Nissan/Volkswagen, Suntrup Kia, Suntrup Hyundai, and BMW of West St. Louis. As Craig Suntrup reflects, "We all started early in the business, around age 12, doing the grunt work—washing cars, cleaning parts, and painting walls."

The sales guy was helpful to start. Should have gotten more for trade in. They only had one key and little information to help me get another key. Waited for 3 hours for finance. Should have been quick an more for trade in. They only had one key and little information to help me get another key. Waited for 3 hours for finance. Should have been quick and easy cash deal. Waited an extra hour for car to be cleaned and detailed. Got car and was not clean or detailed, but didn’t want to wait any longer. Spent 45 mins of my own time cleaning it. Also didn’t have necessary paper work (safety and emissions) ready after being their 4 hours. More

Daughter-in-law went in for oil change tire rotation. $58 total. Said she needed brake shoes and could save the rotors by turning them. Said the overall cost would be $286 and went to settle out and was $340 total. Said she needed brake shoes and could save the rotors by turning them.
