Excellent Car and Exceptional People I have purchased many (too many) cars over the years and dealt with many different dealerships and people. My recent new car purchase from Suntrup Ki I have purchased many (too many) cars over the years and dealt with many different dealerships and people. My recent new car purchase from Suntrup Kia in South County was by far the best. I had not dealt with this location before. Years ago, my car, a 10+ year-old Hyundai, broke down on South Lindbergh very close to the Suntrup Nissan dealership. One of the sales staff there went out of his way to help me get the car to the Suntrup Hyundai dealership a few blocks north. The Service staff at the Hyundai dealership worked me into their very busy schedule and repaired my within a few hours, allowing me to return home to St. Charles County that day. I very much appreciated the kind assistance I received from both Suntrup dealerships, and told myself that when the time came to purchase a new car, I would try to deal with the Suntrup group. A few years later, that time came. Based on my usage requirements for a non-SUV station wagon-type of configuration, the models available thru Hyundai and Nissan unfortunately did not meet my needs. The Kia Soul, however, almost exactly met my specifications. I contacted Suntrup Kia South and set up a test-drive appointment with Client Advisor Robyn Jensen for the following business day, as this was during the restrictive business environment brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. When my wife and I arrived, Robyn was still finishing up with another customer, so instead of having me wait she introduced me to Client Advisor Kelly Pfeiffer who was able to handle our appointment immediately. Following our test drive of the very impressive car we were ready to discuss a purchase. Throughout the process, Kelly was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Several times during the negotiations, Robyn went out of her way to check on how things were going. Once an agreement had been reached, Kelly and Robyn worked together as a team to expediate the process of prepping the car for delivery that day pending our meeting with Finance Manager BJ Bruner. The dealership was very busy with multiple customers making deals, so Kelly and Robyn had already forwarded the necessary forms and information to BJ in advance, allowing him to complete all the paperwork in advance of our meeting. He then carefully explained the documents and answered all of our questions, showing a very high level of expertise and responsiveness as well as a very friendly and genuine interest in us. The purchase was completed, and we drove our new car home shortly thereafter. Based on my previous experience with the Suntrup Nissan and Hyundai personnel, we made the trip from St. Charles County in hopes of finding the same level extraordinary personal concern at Suntrup Kia. Robyn, Kelly, and BJ all exceeded our hopes and expectations. Clearly, they all regarded us as more than just customers, and treated us with kindness, efficiency, respect and professionalism that is not often seen anymore. The Suntrup group should be very proud of the way they, and seemingly all associates throughout the organization, relate to people. We appreciate, thank, and recommend Robyn, Kelly and BJ particularly, and Suntrup in general, for all of their kindness, help and service. More
Not so great experience this time in the service department I bought my car here two years ago and had a great experience. I continued to bring my car in for all the routine scheduled service required and had I bought my car here two years ago and had a great experience. I continued to bring my car in for all the routine scheduled service required and had no issues. They were always pleasant, timely and would always return my car washed and ready to go. That was before... I was out of state for a year and came back to St. Louis and figured I would try and continue my relationship with Suntrup Kia South. Now I'm thinking of looking someplace else. I scheduled my 30k maintenance, emission test online. I show up at 7:15am (appointment time was 7:30am) and all goes well, I also let them know that my tire pressure light came on and asked if they could check, of course they will. They will give me a call before they do any repairs if necessary. I get a call at around 9:30am (I'm in a meeting at work so I cannot answer) they left a message, then texted me with a link to a video( how nice it that!) I watch the video and there are 2 nails in my tire and on other tire has some worn area and they recommended they be replaced. I agree and then wait to hear back on when it will be completed. Around 3pm I called and just got sent to the service department voicemail. I left message and then decided to text them too (sine that is how they got a hold of me earlier) i just asked how it was going and when they thought it would be done? They texted back they were just waiting on the tires. I then called back at 5pm and got voicemail, I texted and nothing, I called again at 5:30, 6:00, 6:30and texted and still nothing. After dinner I called at 7 and got the sales department and they said service was closed but transferred be back to the cashier. She was nice and said it was finished and I could pay over the phone and she would leave my keys in the car so I would pick it up. I paid and then left to head over there, got there any my car was ready (but they did not even wash it after having for 12 hours) I looked over the paperwork and then noticed they did not put the emission stick in the window put did give me the report. I went inside and the girl at the front desk said she did not know anything about the stickers and would check with the sales manager. He came back and said he does not think they do stickers any more. I said the form has a ID # and Sticker #number on it. He said I could come back when the service department is open or he would have them call me. Since they did not text or call me back most of the day, I said I would come back in the morning. I went back the next morning and the gentleman at the counter (same guy from day before) said I should have gotten a sticker, I also asked if they still washed the car after service and he said they should have and walked in back. A guy came up and asked for my keys so he could was the car. The service guy came back and was talking to a teck who said he could not give me a sticker that they would have to do the test again and then I would get one. So I was there again for 20 mins while they did this, not one word about being sorry for the mix up or mistake, would I like a water or anything. They just gave me my key and the new form and he then said sorry for any inconvenience and walked off. I was 30 mins late for work so I just left. I will now just go to Firestone to have my work done and tires (would have cost me less too) Very disappointed with the way service has gone downhill.
