What began with Bill Suntrup opening the first dealership in the 1960s has blossomed into a multi-generational, family-run automotive empire. Just a decade after Bill launched his first dealership, his brother Don joined him, and together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Suntrup Automotive Group.

Bill's sons, Chris and Tom, are partners in Suntrup West County Volvo, with Tom also serving as President and CEO of Suntrup Ford Kirkwood, Suntrup Buick GMC in St. Peters, and Suntrup Ford Westport.
On the other side of the family tree, Don’s children, Butch and Craig, are proud partners in Suntrup Nissan/Volkswagen, Suntrup Kia, Suntrup Hyundai, and BMW of West St. Louis. As Craig Suntrup reflects, "We all started early in the business, around age 12, doing the grunt work—washing cars, cleaning parts, and painting walls."

We had an awesome experience buying our car with Mariah. She was great, didn’t rush us at all, and let us test drive a few different cars for as long as we wanted. Kris Portnoy was amazing! We went in expecting to have to settle because of our financial situation. Kris and the management team moved mountains for us. We left with a new car that will take care of our family, with less mileage and terms that fit our budget. They were sympathetic, kind and we were at peace and laughing the whole time. We can’t say enough good things about Kris and the team we came in contact with from the moment we stepped in the door and were greeted to the moment we left. Went to get the carnival here they're very friendly and helped answer any questions I had and gave me a good deal. Edit. After I left a review and we made a deal to get window tint I got a call from Rod saying they made a mistake and they're not gonna do my window tint that we agreed upon purchase. We went back and forth on it and he told me I was pissing him off for trying to get what I was told I would. They still ended up doing my windows all but windshield which if he told me in the beginning I would of been ok with but he wanted an argument. Suntrup lost a costumer they had for 15+ years because of him. More
