Beware of extra charges added for items which should be optional. All new cars off the truck have #'s scratched on the windshield for which they try to charge you $400. Then there's another $1500 for "pain More

Mr. Soxfan342 completed a loan application and information from that application was legitimately received by Sutton Ford, but because Sutton Ford works diligently to resolve all customer concerns, we have requested our inquiries be removed from his credit report. A copy of our request was mailed to him today, December 11, 2012.

Dear Sutton Ford, Well I like to advise you that I did not legitimately submit a loan application. As you have found out that it was a fraudulent application submitted to you. it is apparent by your response to my review, and the lack of willingness on your part to investigate this is and was very concerning. My review is accurate to the fact your dealership lacks customer service. It's a shame that to I had to go to the BBB & the Illinois attorney general since Frank was so unwilling to assist and investigate when I stopped in. All your associated had to do was say "we would be happy to look into this" instead of " I am wrong" and "leave if I had no business to complete" So don't reply that you resolved my issue, and not recognize you were wrong for for the way you treated me. Lastly your response, makes it seem your doing me a favor by removing the inquires when in fact it was told to you by your marketing partners(s) (IFMG) that it was fraud. So anything that's not an apology, and acknowledgement of the fraudulent application is not acceptable.

We were not informed of any fraudulent application, but chose to resolve the issue due to Mr. Soxfan342's request. I am the customer relations manager and was unaware of my Soxfan342's visit until returning to work on Monday at which time I began working to resolve the issue. Sutton Ford's inquiries will be removed as requested. Have a great day and Happy Holidays! Emma Williams Customer Relations

It's obvious that this is a futile effort. As I have spoken to Dorothy the controller of IFMG, and she acknowledges no application was submitted by me, as I have it in writing. Dorothy has spoken to Tony S., but I suppose if you ate unwilling to acknowledge that I never submitted an application, and offer an apology for the way I was treated, so be it. I guess that would be up to the readers of this review to decide to do business with you. Thanks.

We apologize for any inconveniences we may have caused this customer. The Sales Manager Frank Pizzirulli thought the deposit check was already processed which would require a 10 business day wait until it clears, before it could be refunded to the customer. Upon further investigation, it was discovered the check was not processed and was returned to the customer. Again, we apologize for any inconveniences caused by this misunderstanding. Here at Sutton Ford Lincoln we strive to extend exemplary customer service to all our customers. If the customer wishes to discuss further, please contact me at the dealership. Thank you! Pamela Guardino General Manager

Please Note: After the customer informed us he did not want the products, we agreed to deduct the total cost of the products from the vehicle, but he said no. We make every effort to meet the needs of our customers and would like another opportunity to do business with him. Thank you! Pamela Guardino General Manager

It is easy to say that you strive to extend exemplary customer service but actions speak louder than words. For a Sales Manager to make statements without investigating a situation that impacts a customer does not demonstrate this striving for exemplary customer service. Before telling his employees that they need to back to me the customer and tell me that I have to wait 10 business days for MY money - especially when YOU have not provided ANY goods is definitely POOR customer service.

lousysuttondealership responded

With regards to the statement "when the customer informed us he did not want the products, we agreed to deduct the total cost of the products from the vehicle, but he said no" is incorrect. When I noted the additional cost and questioned them the first response after going to talk to the Sales Manager Frank Pizzirulli was that those could not be changed. I than asked to speak with Frank and he came out and would not remove the cost for the etching but would reduce the price. He than proceeded to publicly rebuke his employee that it was his fault for not explaining up front that the price written on the piece of paper did not include these additional charges. I clarified to him that was not the way to deal with the situation. NEVER did he come back and talk to me again and offer to deduct those extra - NOT agreed upon options. After this sales visit I drove to another Lincoln dealership and bought the same car that I had been looking at and THAT dealership never tried to push additional options after we had agreed on a price. The hour it took me to just get my money back from Sutton is how long it took to close the entire deal with the other dealership. ALL paperwork, financing everything done in the same amount of time to just get my own check back. That is exemplary customer service - definitely NOT how Sutton works.
