Things wrong with the car discovered so far: - The horn doesn't work (big safety issue) - The + paddle shifter doesn't work - The A/C doesn't work (just discovered this yesterday on our first 70+ degree day) - There are two large chips in the windshield that I didn't notice because it was raining. When I go back and look at the pics from the dealership, you can see them when the car is dry. How is it that Swickard, according to the sales person, "completed a through inspection on the car" (I believe I heard 150 point inspection) and NONE of these problems were discovered? - During the negotiations, I was told they, "essentially won't sell the car with a scratch and dent policy of $300" only to find out later that was a lie. - Was told to fill out an application online in advance to make the process faster, but they didn't start on the application until I was there, so I waited for 5 hours until I was able to leave. Okay, fine, standard dealership problems. No surprises. Arrival at 3:40pm, left with the car at 8:20pm. Be prepared for a long wait. Additionally, I was told by one of the sales guys (I think it was Daniel), that there wasn't a second key fob for the car, but I could, "just go into Amazon, buy a fob for $25, and get it programmed for like $50". That's a lie as well. I found out later BMW won't program non-factory remotes. I found this out FROM THE MANAGER WHO CALLED ME BACK FROM SWICKARD when I called to discuss my findings. He apologized for being forced to buy the scratch and dent policy and for the misinformation about the after-market key fob. Of course he didn't offer to make it right by paying for a second fob, so we'll have to spend the $300+ to get that. Did I also mention I found personal paperwork from the prior owner in the glovebox, including the prior owners Savings Bond and a menu from a restaurant in Arizona? How is it the car was inspected and cleaned out, but this wasn't found either? It's almost like they got the car in, vacuumed it, washed it and threw it online. I'm fuming. If you're buying used from these guys, buyer beware. What a disappointment. More
The service department did not fix our Honda properly the first time, we had to bring it back to get it fixed properly, no one would call us for 2 weeks, we had to keep calling ourselves and twice we were hu first time, we had to bring it back to get it fixed properly, no one would call us for 2 weeks, we had to keep calling ourselves and twice we were hung up on. After a month of getting the run around and excuses we finally got our car back and even then we couldn’t get a straight answer as to why it wasn’t repaired properly the first time. The first time we took the vehicle in we were told that we were only being charged for the part not the service time it took to fix it, when we went to get it they tried to charge us, we will never go back there, ever! We will never recommend them either, matter of fact we will go out of our way to warn people about the horrific service and customer service we received. More

Andrew Grimes helped me, discussing engine differences, with other models, features that I asked about, and introduced me to other features i wasn't aware of. (Yes, this is his job, but you can tell when individuals, like Andrew, truly enjoy helping people. ) From the very moment Andrew started assisting us, my daughter and I were impressed. Andrew's professionalism, interest in helping us, whether we bought that car, or not, he made himself available. He has a great sense of humor and is a genuine individual. The car buying process was smooth and I wouldn't have expected him to be so accessible. Even before purchasing the vehicle, when i had questions, i could text him and soon after he replied. Absolutely no pressure through the entire process, just big smiles. If you are considering a new Honda, or even a used vehicle, walk in and ask for Andrew Grimes. Allow his knowledge and customer focus to help you in buying your next vehicle. Within a few minutes of meeting him, you will see what i experienced. Thank you Andrew. Martin Lund More

Another unsatisfied customer, here. I traded for a truck a couple weeks ago. The salesman brought me an offer of more than $24,000 trade-in for my car, toward the purchase of a vehicle advertised at $40,000 a couple weeks ago. The salesman brought me an offer of more than $24,000 trade-in for my car, toward the purchase of a vehicle advertised at $40,000. I purchased a service agreement for $1500, also. After the 22 year old "Finance Manager" put the deal together, I signed on a tablet. Nothing was done on paper. I was given a thumb drive and left in the truck. The Payment documents just arrived in the mail. When I opened them, I discovered the principal amount owed to be $24,000! So, I pulled out the thumb drive and looked at my documents. It seems they allowed me $23,000 for my trade (which was paid-off) and raised the sale price of the vehicle by $2000! Also, the service agreement was uphold to the top-tier, so I'm actually paying $4000 for it! I'm getting screwed out of more than $7000 because I took them at their word and my kids wanted to leave the dealership due to the ridiculous amount of time they were making me wait for the "finance manager" to draw documents, so I just scrolled and signed the tablet. If all that isn't bad enough, the passenger-side door has a leaky seal. The truck has low mileage, so I called the warranty company and they don't cover door or window seals. Of course. Bunch of scammers running that dealership! Stay away from Billy! That guy is a very friendly con man. More
If I could give negative stars I would. What an absolute garbage dealership. These people are the epitome of used car salesmen. Talk and talk and talk and it's all just smoke. They purposefully cover up thi garbage dealership. These people are the epitome of used car salesmen. Talk and talk and talk and it's all just smoke. They purposefully cover up things wrong with vehicles just to get them sold and then act like they are losing money by selling you a lemon. Not one employee that assisted me with my purchase back in March is still employed there. The ones that I have spoken to about my issue admit what a corrupt dealership that it is and apologized for their role in swindling me. They know all the tricks to sell you a piece of junk and then throw their hands in the air and say "yeah, but you signed it." They don't care about veterans and they try their absolute best to take advantage of them and anyone else that they feel that they can. Heed my warning and stay far, far away. If you do happen to find a good deal at this dealership, go over EVERYTHING with a find toothed comb, including the vehicle. They will lie and cover up anything that they need to get the car off the lot. The universe will balance it out and I can't wait to see what happens to this corrupt dealership when it does. More
Worst car buying experience EVER! Very shady salespeople. First…we were doing this deal over the phone and agreed on a sales price, then the next morning Floor Manager Danny told us he made salespeople. First…we were doing this deal over the phone and agreed on a sales price, then the next morning Floor Manager Danny told us he made a mistake and underquoted price by $8,000. After we tried to insist they honor their original deal, we offered to split the difference (we’d come up with additional $4k in cash if they would drop the price by $4K). He still refused. Hubby REALLY wanted the truck, so we agreed to the higher purchase price (it was still within blue book value). Then Danny wanted to try to beat the financing from our bank (we had already been pre-approved), so he said he would contact his lenders and get back to us “shortly”. We waited the entire rest of the day and never heard another word. The next day (yes…now we are on day 3), Danny tells us that he will contact lenders about financing (what? He told us he was doing that the day before?!?) and call us back in 30 minutes. Two hours later, with no call back from Danny, we called the GM, James Mullins, who apologized and promised to get the deal back on track. Later that day, they came back with a better interest rate, so the deal was done (verbally) for the second time. The new purchase price included two add-ons that were NOT optional (@$399 each), but NOT included in the purchase price), plus one that was optional…an extended warranty for $4495 which was for 48 months and 100,000 miles. Since we were purchasing a pre-owned vehicle and plan on traveling in it, we thought that was an important, albeit expensive feature, so we agreed to it. When the paperwork finally arrived (on day 5), the warranty was NOT what had been discussed. The price was the same, but the terms were for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Guess what…ANOTHER MIS-QUOTE by Danny. They did offer an upgraded warranty at the same cost, so we ended up with five years and 60,000 miles and they ate the difference in cost, but it was still NOT what was agreed upon originally. THEN…on day 6, when my husband is on his way from Brookings to Gladstone (a seven hour drive), to pick up the newly purchased truck, he receives a call to tell him the truck was no longer on the lot and they didn’t know where it was! Eventually it was located and returned (seems that some corporate VP had borrowed it, despite a SOLD sign on it, without telling anyone). What that told us is that their internal communication was every bit as bad as their external communication. There were several times during this transaction where we probably should have walked, but the truck was beautiful and had all the bells and whistles we needed. BUT…had we known they would pull a “bait and switch” on us not once, but twice, we certainly would have gone elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE! These kinds of shenanigans is why car salesmen get a bad reputation. Learn from our experience. Don’t buy from Swickard!! More
Dealership charging $5000 dealer mark up on a new Honda Civic si. This is not a limited run type R, it's a Civic si. No car that has MSRP of $28710 should be marked up to a firm selling price of over $35k fees included. Absurd, unethical, and disgusting. I've been a long-term Customer for over a decade when it was the same dealership under a different name. This place used to value customers and their loyalty. Now they view you as a pulse with dollar signs over your head and you are nothing more to them than $$$. I'm not saying don't shop here because some of the sales people are great, such as Andrew, but I'm not shopping here and will take my business and my loyalty elsewhere where I'll be treated fairly and ethically and where I'm not just a walking wallet the business to price gouge me. The sad thing is that I've even told them this and they do NOT care rather they accept their behavior, they let you leave unsatisfied, and they wait and prey for the next customer to come in to gouge them instead; and they repeat until they sell the car at an absurd price gouging price. Whatever happened to profit by volume sales, this place clearly doesn't either recall or they do and they simply don't care. Great sales people, but unfortunately that's about all that's great here. I've shopped for cars at many dealerships and stayed on an average anywhere from 4 to 6 hours to finally drive home with it. Initially, at Swickard, I was done in two with Brian (sales) which knew the inventory and got me out the door on the car I wanted. My big kudos goes to their sale manager Jeff who helped me out quickly in the financing area. Now, business should have more Jeffs that you can feel comfortable with, which showed sincerity, sense of humor, courtesy, hustle and the feeling of trust. He also helped me out a lot getting my initial car upgraded to a higher model. I can proudly say, I trust my guy Jeff at Swickard Honda. Mahalo to the people at Swickard Carl More
