Serious Service Department issues!!!!! In less than 1 year my family and I have bought 6 vehicles from Tom Weiss at Ted Russell Ford on Kingston Pike. Tom is awesome and I would not buy from another salesman he goes above and beyond. I myself on July 3, 2013 bought a 2013 Ford Escape off the showroom floor and I loved that car. I have the three year service package on my car so I started taking my car to their service department as my oil changes and so on are due and since I drive from one end of Knox County to the other every day I am in there often. After my first oil change I started hearing a humming noise coming from my dash area and made the Service Manager Ryan McCloskey aware of this on my next visit, I was told they could not hear the noise I had told them about and so nothing was done. This same thing happened, at every oil change I would tell them about this noise and how it never went away and Ryan would tell me the same thing "they could not hear it" and "there was not warrantee work". Three visits ago I told Ryan again that the noise was still there and wanted this fixed that my radio was going in and out, muffled sort of. When I went and picked up my car I was told by Ryan that AGAIN they could not hear it and his tech that worked on my car said that I was hearing my "turbo". VERY UPSET I told him that I knew what the "TURBO" sounded like and this by far was not that and he said to me they cannot fix something they cannot hear. I went to leave and once I started my car there was the noise as loud as ever, I called Ryan over to my car (since it only seemed to happen when I was around) and had him sit in it. Ryan then went and got a VERY nice tech named Joe who as they were walking out Ryan told him that the other tech said I was hearing my turbo that they heard it with my door opened. I looked at him and said you were really listening for a noise inside my car with the door open (for you who do not know the service dept. backs up to I40 HELLO). Joe told Ryan this by far was not the turbo and he checked something’s out and asked that I bring it back so they could use this new equipment that Ted had just bought that were like ears and it is to pin point a noise, I told him I would. I took my car back this past Tuesday (now April 29, 2014) to have my service done and for them to put these "ears" on my car. Dropped my car off before I went to work and told them to keep it as long as they needed to as the Radio guy didn’t come in till 4:00. Just shortly after 5 I get a call from Ryan saying they find nothing wrong and there is nothing abnormal about the buzzing noise supposedly done the ear thing and could not find where the noise was coming from and again there was no "warrantee" work. My husband and I went to the service dept. and Ryan went to get my car, I asked one of the other service managers to please page Tom Weiss. Tom got there about the same time Ryan pulled in the bay with my car and I told him that I have had my car there MANY times trying to get this noise fixed and have been given the run around. Tom and I walked into the dealership as my husband stayed back to get my keys and was told by Ryan that they cannot fix something they cannot hear (please refer back to Ryan’s call to me less that 30 minutes prior where he told me they could not find the noise and there was nothing abnormal about it). Tom assured me that he will get thins taken care of and I in no way doubt what Tom says. We got a call asking me to bring my car back and I was assigned to Service Manager Ted Frynkewicz and was told to ask for Perry Ball (both of who were very nice and LISTENED TO ME). Took my car back yesterday morning (May1, 2014) spoke to Perry Ball who I think is over the service area and was told they were going to keep my car until they found out what was wrong with it. By late yesterday afternoon my husband got a call from Ted saying they had found out what was going on and I had TWO ISSUES with my car. First one with my radio -- audio module control problem and he "flashed it" (updated I would guess) and Second with the noise -- was a temperature sensor that was bad and had to dismantle my dash to find it, was told that he put his and on the fan and could feel the vibration which was what was making the humming noise. It is sad that in the almost 8 months (4visits) that Ryan could not "find nor "hear" this noise it took Ted only 1 day. My advice to you who are looking to buy or have service done at Ted Russell on Kingston Pike is to buy from Tom Weiss who will not do you wrong, use Duffy as your finance guy and to request Ted Frynkewicz as your service manager, stay as far away from Ryan McCloskey as you can. More

I just bought my third car from Tom Weiss at Ted Russell Ford. I can't say enough about him! He has always worked very hard to get the best deal for ME, not for him. My mother who is 81 yrs old got pressured into purchasing a car she cannot drive. She cannot see out of it, and I've called and called the dealership trying to get them to cancel the contract, and have been a car she cannot drive. She cannot see out of it, and I've called and called the dealership trying to get them to cancel the contract, and have been given the run around! I have since done some research, and found out the car only has a value of $15,000.00 max, trade-in allowance is only $13,700.00 and they sold it for 18,400.00 and then sold her a $2000.00 service contract for a car still under warranty! My mother is VERY upset that someone would treat her this way, she's been having panic attacks daily over this! I most definitely will NOT recommend this dealership to any one I know, and I've called the Better Business Bureau about this also. THIS IS THE WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE THIS FAMILY HAS EVER HAD!!!!!!!!! More
