We announced our intention to purchase a new Ford Edge earlier this year. We notified the various Ford dealerships about our plans, anticipating that the location closest to us would be the easiest to dea earlier this year. We notified the various Ford dealerships about our plans, anticipating that the location closest to us would be the easiest to deal with. After all, we had purchased a car from them before. To our shock and horror, the apathy of the internet sales department led us to the conclusion that we should buy a Honda instead. This is not an exaggeration. The internet sales person had no interest in discussing pricing over email. Instead, he demonstrated dinosaur business practices by trying to hustle into the sales room in order to haggle over every dime. We clearly stated that we wanted a bottom line price and that we would be a quick and painless sale. We had done our due diligence on KBB.com, ConsumerReports.org (which hates the Edge) and TrueCar.com. Silence was the response we received in reply to this. We pressed further because we wanted a quick and painless transaction. The replies were an odd combination of silence and form letters. The funniest moment came when we started looking at eBay auctions for Ted Russell relative to other Ford dealers. We wanted to confirm that they were overpriced and trying to hide this through high pressure in-person sales. What we discovered was hilarious. Ted Russell's eBay auction for a used Ford Edge of the same model with the same features that had 19k miles on it was priced higher than a brand new vehicle from a competing dealer. This speaks volumes about their sales practices. We eventually relented somewhat and test drove a car. Then, we came home and emailed the internet sales department again. Had we been quoted a decent price on it, we still might have purchased. To our shock, the quote we received from them was a full $4,000 higher than a competing dealer in the area for the same vehicle. We even showed the email to confirm. At this point, we were told that the other dealer "probably wouldn't honor the deal". No attempt was made to match a price that we eventually discovered was higher than the TrueCar.com average sales price for the car. Every aspect of our attempt to purchase a vehicle from Ted Russell Ford was met with duplicity. We also reached the point where we questioned whether the internet sales department at this dealership can even use Google. Their knowledge of the internet is so poor that we were genuinely afraid to buy a car with Ford Sync from them because we doubted they could teach us how to use it. This is as dissatisfied as we have been a dealer in some time. Between them, Lance Cunningham Ford and Lenoir City Ford, it is safe to say we will not be buying a Ford any time soon. ALL of the dealerships in this area are horrible. If you have to have one, drive to Atlanta. You will save yourself a lot of aggravation. More
We have bought two vehicals fromyou Tom and Lincoln. We first bought a 2011 Focus. My wife was looking for a nice used car. We had looked all over the place and finally came to Ted Russell. I talked to Tom first bought a 2011 Focus. My wife was looking for a nice used car. We had looked all over the place and finally came to Ted Russell. I talked to Tom and he had a couple of vehicles waiting that was in our price range. My wife looked at them but didn't really like any of them. We were about to leave when Tom pulled up in a 2011little focus with every option. My wife fell in love with it. Lincoln said it was a little out of our range but give him a little bit of time to do some deals. That was the only bad experience it took a couple of hours but was worth the wait she got her car at the price range we were comfortable with. We had such a great experience we came back 6 months later and bought a 2007 F150. Again Tom showed me a couple of trucks but didn't really like any of them. He then again pulled the perfect truck from thin air. Lincoln worked his magic and an hour later I was a proud owner of a 2007 F150. More
I bought a 2011 Mercury Mariner, due to a hearing defect it was too noisy in side to converse with my partner, so I checked out the Lincoln. Hybrid . I picked out a 2012 white one saddle interior, pretty we it was too noisy in side to converse with my partner, so I checked out the Lincoln. Hybrid . I picked out a 2012 white one saddle interior, pretty well had everything . But on the way to the show room Ted mentioned this other car Identical 2011 , 7000 miles on it 4 thousand less than the new one . I checked it out around locally , it seemed like a nice car, less money .Well it appears to me the driver of the car was abusive, foot on gas and brake , this I find out later . The speed control is messed up ,You don't find that out in a parking lot . But on the way home I did . I take it in to day May 3 2012 to have it looked at . And Ted turned it over to a nother Ted service manager, to be checked out . I went to lunch and came back was told everything is okay . I doubt they raised the hood . nothing had changed, just the same as when I took It in . This is my secound car with them , should I go for thirds ? What a sucker I am . Fred Frantum More

We have been trying to get warranty service on our 2010 Lincoln MKS since the first part of December. We have been told every story possible including parts are on order to parts are in then they are not i Lincoln MKS since the first part of December. We have been told every story possible including parts are on order to parts are in then they are not in.The car has been sitting on their lot for 9 days and is still not repaired. We took a trip to the dealership today only to find the car still sitting in a fenced in lot not fixed. We then proceded to call Ted from our cell phone while we were outside the fence only to be told our car was inside being repaired which was a lie since we were looking right at it. We then told Ted of his lie and were told it would be fixed the next day. All of this after waiting 2 1/2 months for phone calls which only came from us repeatedly. I will never again buy a Ford product. This place is a disgrace to the Ford name.We are very disgusted. More
The service that my family and I received at Ted Russell Ford was outstanding, especially Tom Weiss and Licoln Sills! They went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that we were able to purchase Ford was outstanding, especially Tom Weiss and Licoln Sills! They went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that we were able to purchase a car for our daughter that was within our budget. The service also doesn't stop once the car is sold - Tom has made sure that everything is going well and to see if there are any issues or questions we may have. It is a great feeling knowing that someone out there actually cares about their customers! If you are in need a car - see Tom Weiss at Ted Russell Ford, you will not be disappointed! More
The process started off well with very friendly people. Unfortunately they didn't have the exact vehicle I wanted. Another local dealer did manage to locate one and work hard to make things work. The Ted Unfortunately they didn't have the exact vehicle I wanted. Another local dealer did manage to locate one and work hard to make things work. The Ted Russell salesman did a good job of following up throughout the process, but as it became more clear that I was leaning toward the other dealer's vehicle, the tone changed...it became more about how poor the other dealer was and how untrustworthy they might be, etc.. There were also some promises made (we can get you the payment you need...), without ever going through the detailed financials. It all felt like the true colors of the dealership showed - 'get the deal at all costs, even if it's not by being completely honest'. Customers are important and it seemed like the deal was more important than the customer. I chose to do business with the other dealer. More
I have not only had one bad experience but now two bad experiences. That is what I get for trying to give them a second chance. In April 2010 I purchased a new Escape from this dealership. First I was experiences. That is what I get for trying to give them a second chance. In April 2010 I purchased a new Escape from this dealership. First I was told the car would be here on a certain date, then got a call that I was in fact not getting that car and they had to find me another one. I finally got my Escape I was looking for after almost a week. Well after having the car only a week or two, I began to notice a screeching when I rolled the windows up and down and that the windows were scratched. I called the salesperson and got no help except to call the service department. I took the car in and was told first that part of it was from where they took the sticker off, which I have a hard time believing since the scratches were in the glass. Well a week later I took the vehicle in, got the windows repaired. The next week I was back as the windows had done the same thing the next time I rolled them down. This scenario went on four times until it was actually determined that there was a service bulletin out regarding the problem, instead of the reason that Robbie gave me that it was because I have a gravel driveway and the dust was getting in the felt and scratching my windows. Here it is a year and a half later and I am miserable in this vehicle waiting for the next thing to go wrong. So I begin the search for a new vehicle. I was looking on line and found a few at Ted Russell I liked so I thought, well I will give them a second shot. well that was my big mistake! I went and looked at a few vehicles, which they didnt even have exactly what I wanted come to find out when I got there, and was looking at another option that had previously been hail damaged...and oh dont worry they had not fixed all the damage! I thought well, that is minimal and I could get it fixed cheaper than it would cost me to get them to do it and I already knew about the shotty service work they did. Well after four hours with sales and finance, Lincoln, the finance guy is sure he has got me a deal but it was late on a Saturday so he would have to wait until Monday and would call me then. Well I have never heard back. Nice way to get business! I know one thing for sure, I will not be fooled again by this joke of a business and I will advise anyone and everyone I know to also be afraid, be very afraid! More
