Terrebonne Motor Co Inc. first opened its doors as the only franchised Ford dealer in Terrebonne parish on August 14, 1917. Richard Barker Jr. assumed control of the company in 1940 with only fifteen employees. The Barker family continues ownership today with their fourth generation of Ford dealers who have grown the company to over 100 employees and annual gross sales of over 80 million dollars.
Service to the customer and community has always been in the forefront of the Barker's business philosophy. Dick Barker Jr. began his career selling parts on the roads of rural south Louisiana and was brought up in the service end of the business. Dickie Barker III learned some of his most valuable lessons in the service department as well. "You know more about people when you start in service" he says. "You understand what owning a car is all about. You learn to appreciate the customer's concerns." Our current generation of Barkers - Ann, Brett, Chris, and Keith along with fifth generation member, John Jaccuzzo, have all spent their first years learning the ropes in Terrebonne's parts, service and body shop departments before taking on their current career assignments.
"We've grown to be one of the largest sales volume dealerships in Louisiana with price being only part of the equation. " Says Brett Barker, president of Terrebonne Motor co. "Not only do we stock one of the largest inventories of new and used vehicles in the area, we also are one of the only "full service" dealerships in the state. We're one of the only dealerships who can offer onsite rental vehicles and its own body shop to compliment our sales, parts and service departments."

Ahh, the quest to buy a used car. Let me start by saying (so you will know where I am coming from) Larry and Yogi at Terrebonne Ford used cars are typical, lying, talk out the side of their mouths, used car (so you will know where I am coming from) Larry and Yogi at Terrebonne Ford used cars are typical, lying, talk out the side of their mouths, used car salesman. I honestly put them right up there with politicians and convicts. They bait you into their over price car lot with “Guaranteed Financing” and low, low prices. LIES!!!! There is no guaranteed financing and if you don’t qualify the only thing you have to show for your waste of time is another blemish on your already poor credit report. They get you to fill out an application (takes about an hour) have all your information (sale to internet and other sales solicitors) get a picture of your drivers license (no telling what for) and then the IGNORE you. Won’t call you back and do the typical shuffle all used car salesman do. Think about it folks, have you ever met a used car salesman that wouldn’t rip off his own mother for commission. The bad part is I went there during tax season, when the mark the cars up higher and really don’t need your business. What they did not know, and if they had bother to return my calls, is I could of come up with a higher down payment if required. I guess they don’t need my money. I am following this up to the BBB of Houma with a complaint of false advertising for the claim of Guaranteed financing. My advice is, take cash, don’t go to overpriced lots and save your self a big old headache. More

I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I was not satisfied with any of the service I received. The sales person we had procrastinated about everything.
