This is definitely one of the most egregious dealerships in the Houston area. We took our Hyundai Kona in for an oil change($39 coupon) and while arguing with the service manager about the validity of the in the Houston area. We took our Hyundai Kona in for an oil change($39 coupon) and while arguing with the service manager about the validity of the coupon, noticed a Santa Cruz that was advertised to have a significant discount posted on the dealer website. After a brief discussion with their internet sales manager..I requested a written offer. The offer came back $4K higher. A subsequent conversation with the sales manager, Maranda Martin, lead to me walking away. Maranda's attitude was obnoxious and aggressive......quite unusual for someone trying to sell a vehicle. The sales associated I worked with Marcos Pacheco, agreed to remove the $4K in dealer add ons but somehow, that also resulted in the removal of the listed dealer discounts. While I could have legally forced them to honor the advertised quote, it was much easier to just find another honest dealer....there were 6 other identical vehicles in the Houston area and within 5minutes, I had two other dealers working for my business. Anyway, we ended up having the vehicle we wanted, dealer transferred to Sterling McCall Hyundai so we could complete our transaction. We won't ever be back More
This was our third car buying experience with Texan Hyundai, and our second interaction with Maranda the finance manager. We will keep coming back to Texan Hyundai because they are a class act! So extremely disappointed in the service dept. we have always had good experiences with this dealership, even referred friends. But not anymore. We took our used vehicle (2015 sonata) in for AC repair, two months and $1,500 later it is still not fixed. We have tried to pick it up four times and each time it has still been broken. Now they are saying it will be another $1,000; so $2,500 to repair an AC on a used vehicle. Given the repair history the $1,000 will probably not even fix it, they will just ask for more money once we discover it still broken. Terrible, terrible, terrible experience. Do not go here if you actually want your vehicle fixed. We thought a dealership would be the safest place to actually get it fixed without being taken advantage of and boy were we wrong. We Asked for another manager and were told he was as high up as we could go. More
Sloppy paperwork, tried to refuse pre-approved coupon, forced me to buy protection package for 4k, kept me at dealership for 5 hours. Rude operator and no manager will give a call back. forced me to buy protection package for 4k, kept me at dealership for 5 hours. Rude operator and no manager will give a call back. More
The dealership adds tinting and protective coatings on all of their cars as soon as they arrive, then adds nearly $4,000 to the advertised price of the car for a cosmetic warranty. Just another scummy / scammy dealership unfortunately. Texan Hyundai had a 2024 used vehicle on their website that was a fair price and happened to be the color combination we had been looking for my Texan Hyundai had a 2024 used vehicle on their website that was a fair price and happened to be the color combination we had been looking for my wife. I called in the morning and unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the person I spoke to. I started by asking him to confirm the vehicle was still in stock and yes it was available. I told him I was ready to buy if it passed a test drive and inspection, so please give me the out the door price so I could come prepared with a cashier’s check. He refused and said they can’t discuss any price at all on the phone, they only deal in person and only with an appointment. I’ve never heard of a dealership refusing to sell a car that someone was literally saying they were ready to write a check for, just tell me how much. That was my first big red flag. I decided that maybe I just got unlucky and got a bad salesman so I filled in the online form on their website to get their, “best price” which involves giving them your name and phone number. Almost immediately I got a call from Mauricio Hernandez. I again confirmed that yes they did have it in stock and asked for him to give me his best out the door price so I could bring a cashier’s check. He also suggested I come in to talk about it. I told him I don’t need to, I just need to know how much to bring to buy the vehicle. He said he’d get a number and call me back…. Spoiler alert: he didn’t call back. I called the dealership and asked for him about 4 hours later. I was told he was busy but he would call me back if I left my name and number. Can you guess what happened? You got it, no call back. At this point I was 95% certain this was an old school bait and switch dealer scam (“oh you wanted that one that’s at a good price? Sorry we JUST sold it but let me show you something similar!”). My wife and I decided on the off chance we just got unlucky with salesmen to drive the hour drive each way to the dealership and see if we could find someone actually willing to sell us a car. We got there and showed the web page of the car in question to our new salesman, Chazz. Chazz went away for a few minutes and here’s pop quiz number two, what do you think he said when came back? You got it, “We sold this vehicle 6 days ago”….. I will say that Chazz was a high point in this experience. Unlike the gruff folks I’d dealt with previously, he was friendly and quite frankly very calm in the face of how upset I was with what the other salesmen had done. I would happily buy a car from Chazz in the future, but not at Texan Hyundai. So the two people I’d spoken to previously who both confirmed they had the vehicle in stock and that I could come get it were both lying to get me on property. This is why people don’t trust dealerships. Just another greasy trick. More
I have purchased 2 cars with Texan Hyundai. In 2018 I got a limited Sonata and in 2023 a limited Tucson with my husband. I plan to go in at the end of 2024 to trade in my Sonata for a Santa Fe. This place gives Hyundai a bad name. Please do not go to this dealership.I went there after I was given a drive out price over the phone text (see attached). When I got there, they incre Please do not go to this dealership.I went there after I was given a drive out price over the phone text (see attached). When I got there, they increased the price by $1000. Classic Bait and switch. They said they would meet me half way - because my son liked the car I begrudgingly proceeded with the purchase. If for some reason you decide to buy please check your finance sheet in extreme detail. On top of the bait and switch, I caught that had they added an additional $900 to the cost of the car. Ed the finance guy was either clueless or extremely dishonest. I asked the question, "I don't think these numbers add up", can you explain? he just sat there, looking down on the floor and said I don't know what you are talking about. He had to bring in the sales guy to explain the finances. I have never seen that before. Horrible! After spending 3 hours in negotiations/purchase process late into the night, they told me they would fix the issue regarding the sales price discrepancies the next day (see attached). The sales guy never called the next day. I texted him to see what's happening - no response. I called him. No response. I agree with all the other 1 star reviews, the staff here is less than stellar. I am sure an apology with no true action is coming down below like all the others. Please don't go here! More
I was working with this dealership to purchase a new vehicle and they added a ton of fees and a markup on the vehicle at the last minute. They were not honest about pricing even as I asked throughout th vehicle and they added a ton of fees and a markup on the vehicle at the last minute.
