Thompson's Honda

Honda is a disgrace to the automobile industry. I have all the proof that the dealership completely avoided the extended warranty and bandaged the issues until the warranty was expired. Honda still favored the corrupt practices of the dealership. Greater job to the dealership for working to save a multi-billion dollar industry a few hundred dollars. I will leave reviews everywhere I can to ensure the maximum number of people see it and can make more informed choices on whether or not to buy from such a xxxx corporation. We bought our Honda in 2019. The air did not work when we turned it on. We took it to Thompson Honda, Terre Haute, IN. They would not look at it without an upfront fee of $350. When they looked at it, they charged it and sent us on, ignoring the small leak detected. Charging it was a bandaid. It stopped working again. This air has now been charged numerous times, every summer since 2019. In 2025, I took it in and told them I wanted it fixed, it was under a Honda issued extended warranty due to a/c issues and hasn't worked since 2019. They changed the seal under warranty, charged it again, ignored looking at the compressor, the part covered under extended warranty, and sent us on, stating it was resolved. As soon as I turned the air on the following summer (8 months after I was told they fixed it!), I took it back and was told "well, the extended warranty is no longer active and your compressor and condenser are bad. I explained I brought it in for that while the warranty was active. Scotte Foote, services manager, asked me if I could pay 50% and they'd pay the rest. The next day, Scotte Foote called me and said they'd cover 10% and nearly doubled the price! THIS WAS INTENTIONAL ON THEIR PART!! Honda corporate didn't care either. Apparently, corporate loves that the dealerships swindle customers like this. I will never buy a Honda and will never use a Honda dealership again. What a shame . The service is prompt and efficient, and the waiting rooms are most pleasant. You even get a text while you're there asking if you need anything, and who to contact if you do. Thompson’s Honda has been our go to dealership for over 10 years. I’m on my 2nd Odyssey and my husband has the HR-V. They even worked on our old Chevy Silverado! We returned this week for a free service visit that included an oil change and tire rotation. We found the service team great to work with! Scheduling the appointment was easy. We were greeted promptly when we arrived in their immaculate service area. The waiting area was spacious and comfortable but we only needed it for 15-20 minutes as the crew finished our car so quickly! We were early for our appointment and they had us on our way before our actual appointment time rolled around! They gave us a thorough explanation and a paper copy of what they checked on our vehicle and advised us on future service checks. Awesome service crew and facility! More
