"one great expeirence after another"

- DCServices

Myself and several members of my family have bought vehicles from Tom. Each time we were more than satisfied. All his cars are in top shape for used vehicles and are serviced before they hit the lot. When he didnt have what we were looking for he found it for us. after the fact he didnt try and milk us for finders fees or any of that nonsense other dealers do. All said this is the best place for honest used cars, trucks, and SUV. I suggest everyone go to Tom Leis

"Excellent for Years"

- donaldedward

I have bought several cars from Tom Leis Auto Sales ever since they opened, about 30 years ago. The cars I have purchased have run great and been low maintenance and very dependable! I have always had tremendous customer service from Tom Leis and his employees, they go out of their way to get you the car that is right for you, and insure that it will be a car that lasts!!

"Buyer Beward"

- DR

Buyer Beware. Bought a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Tom Leis Auto in mid-June on a Saturday, drove it one mile from his lot to my house, did not try to drive it again until 2 days later. On Monday morning my son got into the car to go to work, it would not start. No engine turn-over, no clicking, no sound, nothing - not a battery problem either as all electrical was on and working including lights and radio and it would not jump at all. There were electrical problems. Sent an email to Tom Leis Auto - they offered no help other than to suggest a place to take it to and say sorry you bought it "as-is". Had to pay to fix electrical system issues. Pre-purchase I had discovered that front windshield wiper sprayer nosel wasn't working right, he said he would fix it before purchase. When taking car to my mechanic to put on new tires, I tested using the windshield wiper fluid, of course it did not work. Had to pay my mechanic to fix this - he ordered correct new part. He said it looked like what they had done was to take defective part and stuff it into tube with some super glue. That was their definition of fixing it I guess before my purchase. Totally shoddy. A few weeks later we noticed some water leaking into passenger side hand holder area after some rain but could not figure it out. A few days after that a hard rain came and the entire front passenger seat and floor area were flooded from leak. Over an inch of water standing in passenger seat foot area. Took car in to check this out, they determined that car had leaks in not one but two areas ... the sunroof and front windshield. Had to pay to fix sunroof leak, still trying to figure out windshield leak - will have to pay for that too. Sent an email to Tom Leis Auto about 2nd set of issues, leaks - no reply whatsoever. I know from what Tom Leis Auto told me when I was looking at the vehicle that it had been on their lot for a while. The idea that they new nothing about any of these issues is ridiculous.

Tom Leis Auto Sales responded

As an A+ 25+ years accredited Better Business Bureau rated business, we regret that Mr. Rickert feels his experience with Tom Leis Auto Sales was less than satisfactory. Mr. Rickert considered the purchase of this vehicle for several days. He also took the vehicle to his mechanic for a mechanical check before purchasing the vehicle as he requested, there were no electrical issues or water leaks found by his mechanic. When Mr. Rickert began experiencing problems with starting the car, we recommended a third party accredited Jeep mechanic to determine what the issue was, we were at that time willing to offer help with repairs once the problem was diagnosed. Mr. Rickert took the Jeep and the mechanic started the vehicle numerous times over several days and never had a problem, so there was no issue we could help with. We were unaware of further starting problems so Mr Rickert's concerns were not ignored. We made attempt to help Mr. Rickert with the issues he said he was having starting the car . At the time of purchase there were no leaks in the car, had there been, there would have been obvious evidence of leaking at the time of purchase. The law in the state of Kentucky is that vehicles are "sold AS-IS". As stated above, these leaks appeared "a few weeks later". Pre-owned cars come with a certain amount of risk of problems developing, however, we pride ourselves in servicing all of our cars and performing a safety check before we put the car on the lot for sale. We want to sell our customers only quality pre-owned vehicles. This is how we have successfully practiced business for 33 years and what has helped us to earn our excellent A+ Rating and 25 year accredited business award from The Better Business Bureau. Please compare our dealerrater.com rating to our ratings and reviews on google, cars.com and cargurus.com where we have 4.0 + ratings.

"NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! I recently purchased a vehicle..."

- Nick_S

NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! I recently purchased a vehicle from Tom Leis and here I am 9 days later having to pay for repairs. Rear end goes out and they are not willing to do anything to help! I will NOT go back or refer this place to anyone.

Tom Leis Auto Sales responded

We are an A+ 25+year Better Business Bureau accredited business, which is earned by proving quality, integrity and honesty within our business practices. When we were first notified by the customer that he was having trouble with the vehicle, he inquired as to what mechanic we would recommend to look at the problem. We suggested he take it to a Honda dealership. The repairs that he is describing are very common on a vehicle with 125,000 miles and can happen at any time with out any visible warning and part of the risk when buying a pre-owned vehicle. We strive to provide pre-owned vehicles that have the best historical evidence of dependability. We also service all of our vehicles to further try and insure that the vehicle will prove to be a quality purchase. There are times though that unpredictable things happen that are completely out of our control. This does not happen often with our vehicles as reflected in our A+ 25+ year Better Business Bureau rating and 4.0 + ratings on cars.com, google and cargurus.com By Kentucky state law, the vehicle in question was purchased from us As-Is. The As-Is statement was signed at the time of purchase, acknowledging he understood the As-Is policy.
