Faulty part, but....... Dealer installed a faulty valve cover gasket prior to it being brought back again for the same issue, oil spraying onto the hot engine block and smoki Dealer installed a faulty valve cover gasket prior to it being brought back again for the same issue, oil spraying onto the hot engine block and smoking and leaving a bad smell. I would have had this done elsewhere but the guy I have work on my car who has his own shop stated it was a dealer only part. Part was replaced under the 2 year warranty for the part. I was really close to needing an oil change and they went ahead and did the change for free plus replaced dry-rotting spark plug boots which I didn't even know about. My vehicle is 16 years old but I did purchase it new at the dealership. I feel that had I not let the service dept. know about my displeasure of the situation, none of the other items would have been done. More
