Second Volvo from Torchlight I had purchased a Volvo 2006 S60 3 years ago from Torchlight when my other S60 got totaled by a hit and run. I had the pleasure of talking to Jeff a few times while trying to make my decision if I should upgrade to the S80 or stick with another S60. I appreciated that his main interest was Volvos so it make me very comfortable to rely on his expertise. I bought the 4 year warranty from him because I tend to keep my cars for long periods ( unless they are involved in a hit and run). The warranty alone paid for it self over the past 3 years with the usual problems on a 9 year old car. This lead to my second purchase when my moms Toyota died on her and she needed another car. I refereed her to Jeff and he felt very comfortable with him, he let her take it to her mechanic in Old Bridge. After it passing with flying colors she drove off with a 2009 Volvo S40. Jeff has been always welcoming of my moms call if she every noticed anything going on with her car and helped us. I would highly recommend him for a used car. Especially when you don't have the money for a new car. His prices are very reasonable and the cars are very clean. Kudos to his brother Mike, who was very helpful, friendly and personable. More

Run for the Hills! Purchased a Volvo wagon. I had the car for about 40 miles of driving (included the drive home). I also purchased a 2 year warranty which is not worth Purchased a Volvo wagon. Have issues with the throttle and lack of power. Jeff sent us to "his guys" in Kenilworth. A service outfit that works on Volvos. My car has been there for over 20 days. You call and call and never get a return call. After not repairing the car and hounding Jeff and "his guys" the decision is made to send it over to a Volvo dealership. The cost to fix is $1700. Of course the warranty he sold me for $800 does not cover this! I going to lawyer and the better business bureau. More

I come back to Torch Light because as a Volvo guy, there is no place you can see more preowned Volvos in one place then Jeffs lot. In my opinion, the buying experience is exactly as it should be... Look through cars with no pressure, and all the prices are set and presented to you right off the bat. I found the car I like, and I drove it home. Excellent. More

In recent years we have purchased a 2004 Saab 9-3 and 2004 Volvo S60. Had great experiences with both cars, so when my 04 S60 was hit in a collision and I needed something new to replace my daily driver I looked everywhere. But in the end, nothing was as easy and hassle free as going to Torchlight where everything was explained step by step. All the cars there are well taken care of drive like a dream. Ended up getting a 2007 Volvo S40. It purrs like a kitten and I have no doubt it will around for as long as I keep it maintained. More

We purchased this one from Jeff about 4 months ago. We have driven from NJ to Colorado and back for a summer vacation and have currently put a total of 7000 miles on our volvo since purchase. Our xc90 has been everything and more than we could ask for in a used vehicle. Once again, thanks Jeff. We will be back again for sure. More

It also looks as if the engine is not original to the car. When I contacted Jeff, the owner of Torch Light, he would not return my email. This dealership operates a deceptive scam. More

I got to see a carfax report for one the cars. It was Almost too good to be true. It was about 3 pages longer than any other carfax I've seen, with all services highlighted. He wouldn't let me keep it after I was done looking at the car. I am glad I went to a different dealer because I got the same year car with Almost 40,000 less miles for the same price. This place gave me a very bad vibe and I'm glad I did not do business with them. More

Do yourself a favor and google a few of the names and see that all the accounts do positive reviews around the country for other xxxxxxxx that will pay for them. I almost bought a car from Jeff. He said it was "just serviced". He let me drive it and it was very hard to steer, had a bulb out, and had a CEL. "Oh yeah those will get taken care of while we are cleaning up the car for you".... ??? While I was there he was trying to push off another xc70 to a family of 4. They came back from the test drive and said it kept stalling out when starting from a stop. I'm glad to see it's still on his lot. He had guys doing bondo work in his wet dirty parking lot and then spraying over it right there. Silly me I didn't do my research before hand. More

After seeing many of the cars advertised online for very reasonable prices, I visited Torch Light to see the cars in person. The lot was full of very clean Volvo's and a few other European brands... ended u reasonable prices, I visited Torch Light to see the cars in person. The lot was full of very clean Volvo's and a few other European brands... ended up buying a 2006 Volvo S60 with 42k... I've had the car for 3 weeks and love it. The buying experience was very low key and absolutely no pressure. Basically come and do as you wish. Prices are fixed but reasonable - I don't like playing games so I like this approach. I would buy here again, and I highly recommend them. More
