Who does this? Over the course of two weeks I was in contact with this dealership about the purchase of a 2020 F-250. The sale price was never an issue. I agreed t Over the course of two weeks I was in contact with this dealership about the purchase of a 2020 F-250. The sale price was never an issue. I agreed to their discounted price. I am purchasing from out of state. My State sales tax, title and license as quoted by the dealership was originally $4001. I disputed this as my local DMV gave me a precise figure of $2436. Over the course of a week, the sales tax amount kept dropping. All the while I was assured the tax amount was not a means to make up for the pricing. Eventually ,with Scott Miller's involvement, a reasonable tax amount was quoted. I agreed to the purchase. I agreed to a down payment. Scott said we would do the paperwork upon my arrival in Dallas so as to avoid the possibility of losing paperwork in the mail. Josh had arranged to pick me up from Love Field on 05/27 and I would drive the vehicle home. All good. Not so much! All of a sudden they backed out of the sale because Scott says he cannot lose $3000 on the deal. No apology, no suggestion of reimbursing flight...just his excuses for why he can't agree to the deal. This after Scott quoted me the out the door price that I agreed to! His response is we don't have a signed contract, and there was no down payment. Those were both things within the dealer's control. They never ran the down payment on my credit card, and Scott suggested signing the contract when I arrived. I guess the car was marked as sold in the eyes of FMC because I am getting requests to review my recent purchase! I have voicemails and e-mails from both gentlemen that support all of what I say. I guess an agreement is no longer an agreement. Who does this? TownEast Ford does this. More
