I try to stay positive on reviews, but I can no longer hold my opinion on Townsand Honda. It was bad enough six months ago when we got my wife’s Honda back from service there, and it had a bank receipt in hold my opinion on Townsand Honda. It was bad enough six months ago when we got my wife’s Honda back from service there, and it had a bank receipt in it from Tuscaloosa (we don’t bank there). When I tried to inquire as to why the staff were using my wife’s vehicle for personal errands, I got no replies after leaving three messages. When I did get a live person, I was told that the manager was with another customer and would have to call me back. He never did. However, a few days ago, my wife wanted to get her 2012 Accord serviced again and the phone receptionist at the service department was all friendly until she heard the year of the car. Then her whole attitude changed and lost all warmth. When my wife asked for a loaner during the service, the receptionist told her they don’t offer loaners. When my wife asked when they stopped that policy, they hung up on her. So, she is going to Meridian for her service (same distance for us). Also, though her car is in pristine condition with only 121,000 on it, when she decides to buy new, it will not be in Tuscaloosa. Their service department needs to take lessons from Tuscaloosa Toyota next door. I drive a late-model Camry and it is a joy to get a service done there. More
After I crashed my car a month or so ago, I began to look for a new car. I had in mind, something like a civic, with decent size, good fuel economy, and of course, comfort. I got in contact with Tim, about t for a new car. I had in mind, something like a civic, with decent size, good fuel economy, and of course, comfort. I got in contact with Tim, about the week before I went in person to the dealership, to price check a couple of vehicles, and Tim was cordial, and responded quickly to my requests. That weekend, I went to the dealership, and ended up test driving a couple cars, before landing on the showroom floor model, a delightfully red civic. I managed to negotiate down on the price a nice amount, and came away generally feeling successful More
O’Shan was a great salesman and made the process easy! We had completed the credit app prior to going to the dealership so all we had to do was sign and drive. We had completed the credit app prior to going to the dealership so all we had to do was sign and drive. More
About a month ago, I gave Townsend Honda the easiest car sale of their life, and purchased a used 2023 Civic Type R over the phone. I knew everything I wanted, and got the sell done within an hour. Since th sale of their life, and purchased a used 2023 Civic Type R over the phone. I knew everything I wanted, and got the sell done within an hour. Since then, it has been a series of lies, dishonesty, and sheer apathy from the dealership (shocker!). Disclaimer: I paid almost $10k over MSRP for a used Type R. Shame on me, yes. Also, shame on the dealer for it. While it falls under a “don’t hate the player, hate the game”, it’s still shady. Again tho, I did it- so I can’t really complain. What I can complain about is that I paid to have the car delivered to me. When it was delivered, the gas tank was on E, with less than 38 miles to empty. That’s not something you expect from a $53,500 purchase. I paid $200 for Honda care service (which should already come with the car, but whatever). I attempted to use the care at my local Honda, and it’s NOT redeemable at all locations- even though Brian LITERALLY told me it was. It is ONLY redeemable at Townsend Honda. So, it’s useless! Why did I bring the car in, you ask? Because the second gear is grinding, and the clutch is already beginning to slip (On a car with 3k miles!) The dealer sold it to me in this broken conditions anyways, without disclosing it. I now need to fight Honda about replacing the ENTIRE CLUTCH on my $53,500 purchase. This repair was quoted at over $9,000, and not covered under warranty. The dealer either willingly sold me a broken car, or wasn’t intelligent enough to know what a broken car looked like. Either way, DO NOT BUY FROM TOWNSEND HONDA! Townsend also charged me more than they legally should’ve for the sales tax. I brought it up to Brian, the sales associate, numerous times. Even after that, he leaves my messages on read, and ignores the refund (we are talking ~$250 petty dollars on a $53,500 purchase that the dealer is keeping). He even told me to “stop texting” him. That being said, I’ve already contacted the Better Business Bureau and Honda. I’ve filed a report, complaint, and now debating on a civil lawsuit. I’ll be honest. I’ve been in the US Air Force for about 7 years now, and this dealership takes the cake for apathetic attitudes towards their customers (and military members are used to being shafted by dealerships). Buying a car is SUPPOSED to be a fun, few in a lifetime experiences. But the experience has been anything but with Townsend. PLEASE- don’t make the same mistake I did, and DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM TOWNSEND HONDA! More
