We said we liked the car but did not want to close the deal. It was after 8:00, it had been a long day, and we didn't feel like negotiating. We were told we could hold the vehicle for $500 (which we were happy to do), but then Jake returned and said his boss wanted us to throw out a number to get an idea whether or not common ground could be met. Maybe this happened because we were planning to come back a bit later in the day (early afternoon after I finished work). Was Jake's manager afraid we would walk? I don't know. We were furious that we were being pushed into negotiation. Clearly, we were not trusted and our fatigue was not being considered. We said forget the $500, we'll just come back at 9:15 a.m. We were so upset that we almost didn't return. We did show up Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. We were tempted to ask for a different salesperson. I had taken a few hours off work to come in and try to make the deal and was hoping to be treated with respect. Although we had found another car at a different dealer, we wanted to give this a try. We've previously never felt pressured like this at the Toyota dealership in Bellingham, having purchased four vehicles over the years. Maybe Jake sensed that we were hoping to get out quickly (since I had to go back to work). He seemed to keep things moving, although there were still a lot of patronizing small talk. Negotiation was a little awkward, but he clearly respected our position, which was good. We were glad that he brought in his manager (Jake Saville) to speed things along. Saville gave us a quote, we said we would entertain it, and then he dropped the price by $100 after considering we were long-time customers. The rest of the process went smoothly. We were happy that Jeff Zabel kept things moving along and didn't push extra sales on us. We knew the process and knew what we were saying "no" to; he seemed to recognize this and to respect our position. We were able to get out in an hour and a half, which we appreciated. Besides being fuming mad Thursday night, Friday morning went fairly well, and was more representative of the treatment we are used to. Overall, it was a good experience, but I wanted to share this as Thursday night almost cost the deal. Three stars to Jake Bogaards, but the rest of the team rounded out the experience. More

It was Friday and we’d planned to drive to Seattle on Sunday for a Mariners game. When Alyssa told me there was an opening Saturday I could hardly believe it! The service crew had my car ready for me early afternoon, ahead of schedule. I was very pleased with the work and being able to get in on such quick notice. In addition, Alyssa included quotes for a 120k mileage check at my request. She was great to work with. My only complaint was the final cost, labor specifically, was exorbitantly high. More
