I bought a Corolla from this dealership years ago and had a very normal car buying experience. A few days ago I called and asked for an out the door price on a pre-certified 2018 Toyota Rav4 Lx AWD. I was a very normal car buying experience. A few days ago I called and asked for an out the door price on a pre-certified 2018 Toyota Rav4 Lx AWD. I was given a price with and without an additional extended warranty. The price with the extended warranty was similar to what I was seeing at other Toyota dealerships. The price without the extended warranty was similar to other non pre-certified Rav4 models that I was looking at. It was a pretty good deal without being the cheapest option that I had found. I call back the next day and ask if the Rav4 is still available and if they were able to come down on the price without the extended warranty. I am speaking with a new salesperson(Jake) as the person I spoke to the day before(Dave) had the day off. Jake speaks to his sales manager(Mike) and comes back with an out the door price that is over 3000 dollars more than what I was quoted the day before. Jake and I had a very normal discussion and he said he didn't know why the price was so different, that Jake was unable to get ahold of Dave, and that Jake understood it was a really strange thing to get such different prices in the span of 24 hours. Jake then said I should try speaking to his sales manager Mike. He transferred me and said he would also ask Mike to call me. I called mike 3 times. I left 2 messages. I called Jake again and apparently this dealership is so big Jake was unsure of where to find Mike. This is strange because Mike was easy to find when there was the potential for a sale. Either way it has been 4 days. No one has returned my call. This might just be a lesson learned for me and a bit of a cautionary tale for anyone who reads this. If I went here again I would: 1) Get everything in writing. That way out the door prices can't change overnight 2) Make sure the price you are quoted is approved by the sales manager. Jake had no idea where Dave got his price from, and apparently Mike didn't have time to deal with me. 3) Consider going elsewhere. I understand that dealerships make money by selling cars, but this lack of response when I had an honest question is really frustrating. 4) Unfortunately be wary about the price you are given over the phone. I came in to look at a 2021 Toyota Tacoma after they had reached out to me and told me they had them in stock. When I arrived, not only did they not have ANY 2021 Tacomas, they didn't even have 2020 Tacomas reached out to me and told me they had them in stock. When I arrived, not only did they not have ANY 2021 Tacomas, they didn't even have 2020 Tacomas, only 2 smoke ridden 2019s. From there the usual BS sales tactics kicked in and they tried to wear me down to buy a car off a paper description that they couldn't even tell me when it would arrive. I was dumbfounded. When I finally got out of there, i'd never walk back in. More
