I recently purchased a used car from Toyota of Stamford. While the sales process itself was fairly smooth, I was disappointed with how a small but important part of the experience was handled. When I pic While the sales process itself was fairly smooth, I was disappointed with how a small but important part of the experience was handled. When I picked up my car, it had not been washed or detailed, which I found surprising. The salesperson told me to "just bring it back when you can" to get it cleaned. I explained that I had a busy schedule and wouldn’t be able to return right away, and he said that was fine. When I came back 25 days later, I was told the complimentary wash offer had expired — something that was never disclosed to me. To make things worse, the salesman argued with me and insisted he had texted and called me, but when I showed him my phone records, there were no missed calls or texts from him. This back-and-forth was unprofessional and left a bad impression. I understand that policies may have limitations, but they should be clearly communicated up front, especially when they impact the post-sale experience. A little transparency and professionalism would have gone a long way. More

He is a tremendous credit to the dealer and I wish there were more people like him at other dealers I have been to. Everyone I have encountered at Toyota of Stamford has been tremendous but Jim really stands out. Thank you so much More

Do not buy any vehicle from them or even engage them. This a shark tank operation and the sale stops at the desk. When my very lightly driven, never towed, 2018 highlander ltd. we bought brand new with 5 miles on the ODO started having a transmission problem at only 49,000 miles, they told me it's a $10,460 + tax complete replacement at my sole expense, and they refuse to even service these transmissions, only replace them. The option we were given was to try and appeal with Toyota corporate, and best of luck with that. Or they'd buy the defective vehicle back from us for $15k under its KBB value as a trade in this condition, so they could sell it for a near $20k profit afterwards... Never again. Buy a Kia or Hyundai instead that is made by a company that will stand behind their warranties for 100k miles and not effectively total your vehicles value at only 49k miles by refusing to fix what is an obvious design failure on their part. Do not do business with this dealership under any circumstances, and please do not buy a Toyota with an 8-speed transmission, ever. It will fail and they will stick you with the bill, just like us. Further to my point, I also own a 2006 Tacoma that they replaced the frame on as part of a recall. Beyond the body being loose on the frame and literally missing bolts, they reinstalled all the totally rusted out struts and related suspension parts etc, without even letting me know it was a problem and asking me if I would like them replaced (even at my expense) while in the process.... 2 months later the front passengers side strut snapped on me at 40MPH and I had to ditch into someone's yard to avoid a telephone pole. Again, full denial of any responsibility even after my attorney encouraged me to pursue them. Avoid at all costs. Please. More
