I usually do not like the experience of buying a car. I usually feel pressured and like the dealer is trying to sell me something I do not want. I liked Luis's approach. He first sat me down and asked me a lot of questions about exactly what I was looking for, what was really important, somewhat important and not that important. We then test drove two Tundras that fit what my needs were. The other thing I liked is that Luis was very sensitive to my time and checked on a few occasions if I was still good. I did not come in to the dealership intending on buying that day, but I was pleased with the overall experience and loved the truck. I was a little pressed for time at the end, because I was not planning on spending as much time or buying that day, but Luis got everything taken care of quickly and we got 90% of it done on Saturday so we had less than 30 minutes to finalize everything on Monday when I picked up the car. All of the staff we interacted with were professional and friendly. In particular Justin and Matt were very helpful and patient with us in explaining the functions of the new Avalon we wanted to purchase. I friendly. I really pushed hard to get the price of the vehicle down where I wanted it. Throughout this entire process the staff was very understanding and polite. They went "above and beyond" to ensure that we could come to terms that both parties could accept. The end result was that we left the dealership with our brand new 2013 Avalon. Update: I was contacted by John Tait about my review. I agreed to come in to Haltermans to have the break problem checked. He was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of promptly. Unfortunately we still have not resolved the brake squealing problem that is now occurring on my vehicle which is why I am still giving a 3 for quality of service and a 4 on overall experience. However, Tait is now going to replace the brake pads and see if the problem can be solved using this method. I am much much happier with the service and will be continuing to use Haltermans in the future. I have used Halterman's Toyota for all the maintenance on my 2007 Toyota Yaris since I purchased it at the dealership. When receiving service I normally leave my vehicle for the day with the company. However, I needed an inspection and when I called they stated that the only available days for a service appointment were a Thursday or Friday of that week, I discussed with the service center that I absolutely positively needed my vehicle back by 11 or 12 as I had several meeting with various people due to the fact that my wedding was that weekend. i was ASSURED that this would not be a problem and I made an appointment for 830 am Thursday morning. When I arrived at 830 I was told my appointment was not until 930, I found this very strange and proceeded to tell the service staff that I had purposely made an 830 appointment and that I needed my vehicle back by no later than 12. I was informed that this would not be a problem even with the 930 appointment. I did not hear from Halterman's again. At 11:30 I called and asked if my vehicle was completed they said it would be done in 30-45 minutes. I arrived at Halterman's at 12:30 and asked for my vehicle. I was informed it was not even started. They pulled my vehicle and did the inspection at 130 pm I was informed that my rear breaks failed and that it would be several more hours to complete. First off how does it take this long to do a simple inspection? Second less than a month previous I had my 100,000 mile inspection, why was I not informed of this than? To mitigate the almost 2 hour past due inspection time I was informed if I brought the vehicle back they would wave the inspection charge. I made the mistake of attempting to come back again, I made an 8 am appointment for my rear brakes on the following Saturday. I was informed that rear breaks should take less than 2 hours and I would be out of the dealership way before noon. AGAIN I stated I needed to leave by noon, as I had a family event. I waited 3.5 hours and at 11:30 asked about my vehicle AGAIN they had not even started it. This time it was almost 2pm before my vehicle was completed. There seems to be a massive inability for this company to preform general service in a timely manner. Also their is a lack of communication about which customers have waited for obscene amounts of time for a simple service such as breaks. All in all it took over 11 hours for me to get my breaks changed. More
I went to Halterman's because my parents have purchased two cars from them and my Jeep was costing me way too much money to maintain. So I didn't go in to the dealership with very high hopes, and so I started to look at the used vehicles only, and that was on Thursday 8/8/2013. I left that night pretty disappointed when nothing could be done for me that night. But come Friday, KeeKee called me to inform me that she couldn't get me financed for the original car that I wanted to purchase, but she could get me financing for a 2013 Camry, and honestly I thought that she was pulling my chain. Needless to say, I drove home today in my brand new Camry. She has been absolutely wonderful to me and has worked her butt off to get me a great deal on something that I could afford without an issue. I am so grateful to her for everything that she has done for me. It definitely took a while to make it happen, a lot longer than any other dealership that I've ever been to, but very much worth the wait. Everyone that I was in contact with at Halterman's was great. But her most of all I am the most pleased with. The best part about KeeKee is that she didn't see me as a paycheck or dollars and cents, she saw me as a person and treated me like a part of her family. Thank you soooo very much for everything, and I really hope that she gets the recognition that she deserves. My only complaint is that my monthly payment is a little bit higher that I would have liked, but it is still do able. More
