I bought my Highlander based on Tri County's reputation for quality of service...and they have never let me down. They are first rate on every level. Last yr. when I bought my truck from Bruce Bransfield at Tri. County Toyota. Bruce toured me around the service dept., he showed me the where, when, how's and why's of the service area, and the quality of Tri. County Toyota. (very nice) So when my antenna got broke off my truck, I could of got the work done anywhere, but I brought it back to where I got it. (it was the right choice.) Craig Johnson and the guys did a great job. This is also why every scheduled maintenance that I have needed, and this up and coming inspection, has and will be done at Tri County Toyota. I recently went in for a service appointment, 5000 mile, which included a battery test with print-out, as a result it was recommended that battery service be performed to prolong the life of the battery and which included a battery test with print-out, as a result it was recommended that battery service be performed to prolong the life of the battery and I agree to have the service performed for an additional cost of course. That evening my car was starting irregularly and the next morning when leaving for work the car would not start at all. So, it became very clear that I was not going to make it work on time. I called roadside assistance for a jump and once they arrived I went to the dealership. Where I was told that less than 24 hours later and after the recommended service to prolong the life of my battery ; my battery was dead and needed to be replace. With no other option, because I had to be at work for an important meeting, I had to then pay for a new battery, which is outrageous. The highly recommended life prolonging battery service had actually drained my battery. So upset by this and 2+ hours late for work, I called the corporate office and voice my concerns. After which 3 business days later I get a call from Pete stating that the customer service rep. was unavailable and he wanted to set a time to talk the following day, we set a time and to my surprise there was no callback. And to add insult to injury I get a call from corporate telling me in short to work it out with the dealer. I then get another call from Pete telling me that I would be reimburse for all my trouble but he had to verify and would give me a call back. Shortly, thereafter I talked to the customer service rep. who proceeded to insult my intelligence by telling me car batteries are like light bulbs sometimes they just blow out. Now I have a bachelor's degree in engineering and will have a Maters this summer and out of all the signal and systems and circuit classes I have taken I never learn this information because neither batteries nor light bulbs just blow out. Testing can be done in either case, which they indicated had been done before they recommended the service. Now, I received the "reimburse" call from Pete on Jan 25th, to date Feb 6th I have yet to hear from Pete and no reimbursement. In summary, I believe the service they performed on my car drained my battery and believe they know it and also believe that I should not have been financial responsible for the new battery. They gave me the run around, insulted my intelligence and have scared my relationship with Toyota. On another note, I purchased by 3rd pre-owned certified in June 2010 since I have had the car the following work has been done: belts replaced, resurface front rotors, squeeler tab tightened, a score removed from rotor, replace rear brake pads and resurface rotors, a resinator replaced, radio replaced, and battery. I did not get this much work done on my other two cars combined. I have not had the car for 2 years yet and all these problems; I would be leery of their pre-owned certified cars from now on. I had no problems with my other cars per 2008. I am in the market for a car for my sister who is heading off to college and Toyota was at the top of the list but the experience with this car has dropped their status. More
went to dealership to get a side mirror replaced. I called for an appt to have my oil changed. I was given an appointment within the hour and seen promptly. Everyone was helpful and friendly. My wait time was 35 minutes. In addition to the oil change, my windshields were cleaned, my fluids topped off and my tires inflated to the proper pressure. More
