Ma'am, My name is Pete Paznokas, I am the Customer Care Director here at Tri County Toyota Scion. In reviewing the log from yesterday's activity I noticed that we were still working on your vehicle. When doing a search I saw your review. Please let me know where we are with your vehicle if you can. Thank you

At that point the gentleman on the phone had clearly stated since I had no loyalty as a customer you have no loyalty to my husband and I. He then stated that he would have a check cut to return my deposit money. I emailed Sloane Toyota and their sales manager called me back within a few minutes and was more than happy to give me the discount I had asked for from your dealership. We went down that night and they processed the paperwork as we watched the Eagles game and drove the car home that night. I will tell you honestly what is most disturbing about the whole process is the game of "I have to check" with this person or that. It always seems to be a game of pass the buck. Life is too busy for us all these days and I am not alone in the thought that if you do not have the authority to say what you can sell the car for then why do you even bother to approach me about it. Your dealership seems to feel the Prius is a "hot" item that you can get no where else, but the reality of it is that this is not completely true. I also heard over and over that "no one will discount them" and that is not really a true statement because other dealerships seem more than willing to do so. With the abundance of information on the internet available what a dealership pays for a car and on average what that car is selling for in your area is easy to find. What I asked for was not a ridiculous discount, it is actually quite average for the vehicle and yet it was met with much drama about how they were doing me this huge favor and providing me a discount that no one else is willing to give. In reality the sale was lost over a $100 and yes I too could have conceded and given up the $100 but it was the attitude that I would get the offer from no one else and that your dealership had gone above and beyond. In the end I was somewhat rude but was frustrated. I clearly stated from my first phone call that I would buy the car if you were willing to take $1,000 off of it. I was not playing let's make a deal, I was very serious about it. This is of course all just my opinion but I can tell you that it is shared by many of my generation. I also think it is important to remember the power of social media and that one day of frustration can lead to discussion with a much larger group of people then perhaps it would in the past. My husband's college roommate was in fact in your dealership looking at cars and was have his own second thoughts about some of the sales tactics used and this all became part of the discussion that day. In the future I will go and test drive cars and decide what I want and then use the no hassle quote system that is offered to negotiate the price. I told the salesman from the beginning, I do not enjoy buying cars. It is about much fun anymore as going to the dentist. Clearly you could just pass me off as a crazy and unreasonable woman but that is really not my nature. That decision is up to you.
