If there was a way to give you zero stars, I would have. You asked for it; here it is. In my 77 years on this earth, I can't tell you how many cars I have purchased. They range from my first car, 1967 You asked for it; here it is. In my 77 years on this earth, I can't tell you how many cars I have purchased. They range from my first car, 1967 Firebird convertible to a Rolls Royce Corniche. I've owned a number of Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles, Chryslers, Lincolns, Chevys, and Nissan with a Jeep and a couple of Toyotas thrown in. I currently have a Hyundai Elantra bought from another dealer, and bought a Hyundai Tucson for my wife from Tulsa Hyuandai Friday. As for my purchase yesterday, you are right. Tulsa Hyundai definitely differentiated themselves. The buying experience there was absolutely the worst in my 77 years. I would buy a new donkey to get around on before I would ever again buy a car from Tulsa Hyundai. I made my deal with them on Thursday. Earlier that day, I had my second Covid-19 vaccine. I knew from some of my friends and my wife that I would feel like I had the flu on Friday, but that the side effect would only last one day. I explained that to my young sales person, but she wanted to make an appointment to pick up my new car after detailing it. We agreed to 2:00 on Friday. Early Friday morning, that sales person phoned me to see if I would still make the 2:00 appointment. I told her that i felt like xxxx but I was not contagious and I wanted to delay picking up the car for another day or two. She said the reason for the appointment was so they could have all the paperwork and detailing of the new car ready for my signatures and the key exchange. I would be in and out in a few minutes. I agreed that I would be there. I arrived about 15 minutes early to find my sales person at her desk with another customer. She came over and said she would be with me shortly. I replied that I came early just in case everything was ready early. I told her I understood about the appointment time and she should go ahead and take care of her other customer until my appointment time. When that time came, she came over and apologized for still being with her other customer but that the finance manager would come get me soon to sign all the paperwork. I told her that would be fine. When the finance manager failed to come for me by 2:30, I told the sales person that if I was not in the finance manager's office in the next five minutes I would cancel the purchase. Additionally, I started to make a scene. I would tell other customers in the showroom about my experience and that I wouldn't buy a car there again if they plated it in 24 carat gold. At about 2:40 I was in the finance manager's office and started signing documents. I don't have very good handwriting and even I couldn't read what I scribbled on those pages. I was so angry I was shaking and my handwriting, poor as it usually is, was illegible. I just wanted to get my new car keys and go home to bed. Perhaps it was all a ploy. When you make people that angry, they tend to miss things they shouldn't. And I was guilty of not looking closely enough at the many documents I was signing. One such document was the disclosure of prices and down payments and trade-ins. I looked at all the documents yesterday and discovered that they had not given me credit for my down payment. Fortunately, I saved the receipt for my down payment, so at least I can prove I made the payment. Now I have to go back and be prepared to wait half a day to amend the financing documents to reflect that down payment. I'd rather take a beating from an angry wife with a Cat-o-nine-tails. Having been in a number of successful businesses, always as CEO or equivalent, I know that when you endorse someone, you stake your own reputation on the actions of your endorsee. Your reputation with me, therefore, is worth less than a bucket of xxxxxxxxx. If I knew you as a friend, I would strenuously recommend that you drop this outfit from your endorsement list. Finally, when I ran a business that made appointments with clients, we honored those appointment times as written in stone. It was sacrosanct that no walk-in customer would take a minute of time away from the client with an appointment. Sadly, that was the excuse given for all the delays I suffered that day. If you haven't known anyone who took the Covid-19 vaccine, you probably don't know the next day side effect that essentially feels like the flu for one day. Nobody with those symptoms wants to be treated the way I was. It's your business. Do with this email as you wish. Dr. Tom Lawrence Broken Arrow, Oklahoma More
