Tynan's Volkswagen - Service Center

Brought my atlas into Tynan’s to look at a coolant issue and some recall work. Admittedly the recall work was done satisfactorily however I have a much larger concern. In the report it was recommended that I replace my cabin air filter. I declined that service and ordered a new one. When it arrived I went to replace it only to find out that the current filter was almost completely clean. This blatant lie is the reason I will not be returning to tynans. If I can’t trust recommendations on something small like an air filter I absolutely would not trust anything else they would tell me. I can’t even imagine how many people that don’t have automotive repair knowledge have had their filters replaced unnecessarily. More

Told me I needed to replace cat converter but upon doing my own inspection with car I felt like the car drove fine in its current condition. Wish they would have called me and explained things rather than sending me a “critical repair” for the cat converter, which would have costed me over 6k….
