Mrmozart1, I am very sorry to hear that your experience our staff was not ideal. If at all possible, we would like to schedule a time to discuss this matter with you and figure out what went wrong. Please send me an email to jim@tysonmotor.com; or, if it is more convenient for you, feel free to call me at 815-741-5530 so that we can analyze this unfortunate situation at length. Again, I apologize for your undesirable experience and hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Jim Kinney, GM/Partner, Tyson Motor

Tyson Motor responded

Re; ExJeepGuy In response to your review, let's address what you have mentioned near the end of it. When you brought your Jeep in for transmission work you were told you should have brought it in a little earlier for a check up, but because you didn't your warranty was null and void. Sir, you were notified by mail thru our service department here at Tyson Motor, that your vehicle was due for a powertrain inspection. You were then notified by mail FOUR times thru Chrysler Corporation that your vehicle was due for its powertrain inspection. You then had a phone conversation with our service director, Joe Prno, who apologized to you for the issue of the 4x4 shifter not being secure. Mr. Prno then spoke with you concerning all FIVE notices that were sent to you in regards to your required powertain inspection. The answer you gave to Mr. Prno was "Do you know how much junk mail I get?" and that you "Most likely threw it away!" Mr. Prno went ahead and consulted with Chrysler, and he then provided the repairs needed to your transmission for less that 1/4 of the entire cost. Mr. Prno also provided you with 2 days retal car coverage at no cost to you. For your extended warranty to be in effect, you must follow the guidlines that are stipulated in the contract, meaning you must follow the recommended maintenance schedule for your vehicle. It was your choice not to respond to all FIVE notices that were sent to you. We wish you all the best with your future vehicle concerns.

It's very interesting that in addition to Tyson's reply on this Web site to my unfavorable review, I also received a phone call from Tyson at my home on 1/28/14, whereby I was told my reviews on this and a few other public forums constituted "boarderline harrassment." Mind you, all I have done is post a few unfavorable reviews worded almost identically on public Web sites, oh and I did add a comment to a picture on Tyson's Facebook page. I have not phoned Tyson, I have not picketed Tyson, I have not taken out ads in local papers, I have not lied or made vulger insults, or even taken any action whatsoever other than post a few reviews online. The last time I checked we had freedom of speech in this country, however, I don't think Tyson likes it when consumers express unfavorable opinions about their dealership and, at least in this case, has responded by calling the consumer/reviewer at his home in what can only be described as an apparent attempt to intimidate by insinuating that when a consumer posts unfavorable reviews on a company to more than one Web site/public forum it could constitute harrassment. Gosh. Who knew that consumers everywhere with the audacity to express negative opinions on public forums were all committing acts of harrassment? I'm so glad Tyson called me at home to harrass...er, I mean inform me of this little known fact. And for the record, I did not receive even ONE notice from either Tyson or Chrysler of the service requirement affecting my warrenty. Nothing by email, nothing by U.S. Postal Service, no phone call, NOTHING. The burden of proof lies with Tyson.
