Extremely Disappointed I took my 2021 Tahoe to this dealer’s service department for a routine service and to have an engine light checked. When my vehicle was returned to me, it had a broken window. Th dealer’s service department for a routine service and to have an engine light checked. When my vehicle was returned to me, it had a broken window. The car was dropped off in perfect condition, with all windows intact, yet the dealer refused to take responsibility. I was told that this “could happen to anyone,” which is completely unacceptable. A dealership should protect the vehicles in their care not blame the customer for damage that happened on their property. This experience is just one of many issues I’ve had with this dealer over the past year. My 2021 Tahoe has needed an engine replacement and several other repairs, and the service department has been unreliable, unhelpful, and far from customer friendly. At this point, I can honestly say I do not recommend this dealership at all. The only positives are Shelby, the service advisor, and Ray in sales both are amazing and know how to treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience does not match their professionalism. Because of the dealership’s lack of accountability and poor service, I will no longer be returning. Very disappointed More

Update 6-24-2025 The vehicle has been repaired, and we drove it home. We were able to reach an agreement with the general manager of the dealership, and also had some help from GM Chevrolet corporate. Unfortunately, we still had to come out of pocket considerably to make this repair happen, but we decided it was worth it. Thank you to the people who took the time to listen and help with a resolution. Worst experience I have had with a service department... Repair Order #6220499 A month has transpired since we dropped off our vehicle for a ticking noise from the engine. No check engine light, no misfires, fuel economy normal. The technician diagnosed it as a failed lifter. Valmark service charged my extended warranty company $10,000 for lifters and a camshaft job. First attempt at repair failed. Valmark opened a case to have GM (TAC) send another set of lifters. Second attempt at repair failed. Our vehicle went from running on all eight cylinders to being inoperable. Valmark now claims there is a "blockage" in the engine keeping oil from getting to the lifters correctly. Based on expert advice and technical guidance on the engine lubrication cycle of operations, this is highly unlikely and almost impossible that it "all of a sudden" happened after two failed attempts at repair. Note: Valmark caused the current state the vehicle is in. The dealership quoted me an engine replacement close to $15,000. Extended warranty has now denied an additional claim, stating the failure is not covered. I attempted to get them to drop the price on the engine replacement, and they could not hit the reasonable number I asked for, $10,000. Mind you, the dealership has already received the money from my extended warranty (over $10k) for the work completed that did not fix the problem. My thoughts are that this money should go towards the engine, and I should only owe $5k (seems fair). Instead, people are going to get paid, and we are left stranded. Now I have involved GM Corporate, and they have heard the situation and are happy to investigate further. I also reached out to Chevrolet technicians I know who seem to believe a mistake was made with the cam install concerning damage or improper procedures. Previous repairs by the dealership include a failed repair on an oil pan seal (still leaks), a bolt they stripped in the cylinder head they had to tap out, and claimed someone from the outside put the wrong bolt in, along with preventive maintenance, and a new transmission. In conclusion, I brought my running, well-maintained vehicle in for a noise. Valmark Chevrolet, New Braunfels, misdiagnosed and failed at two major repair attempts, costing well over $10k, and now I am forced to either pay $15k for an engine, trade it in for nothing, or try to get outside help resolving this issue. BTW, the warranty company did not cover everything with the previous failed repairs, and I owe the dealership close to $1k just to have the ticket closed and the vehicle towed away. This whole experience has greatly changed my view of the Valmark service department. All I want is our vehicle back running properly, or a reasonable replacement. Valmark Chevrolet is not there for the customer in this scenario. Waiting to hear back from GM corporate and explore other legal options as well. I will provide updates as this situation unfolds. I visited this dealership recently after being quoted a price for a vehicle by my sales manger, Alan Gullett. This is my first time purchasing a vehicle and I drove an hour to get there with the expectatio price for a vehicle by my sales manger, Alan Gullett. This is my first time purchasing a vehicle and I drove an hour to get there with the expectation that the price provided to me would be honored. Franklin, my sales consultant was professional, transparent, and genuinely tried his best to ensure a positive experience. However, while I was there, I witnessed the sales manager, Alan Gullett, refuse to honor the price Franklin had assured me would stand. To Franklin’s credit, he advocated strongly on my behalf, demonstrating a commitment to his word and to customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to change Mr. Gullett’s decision. While Mr. Gullett’s premise that buyers always seek the lowest price is valid, the real issue here is trust and reputation. When an individual buyer fails to honor a verbal agreement, it may affect one relationship. However, when a dealership fails to honor its pricing, it risks damaging the trust and reputation of the entire business. It’s important to note that the dealership overall seemed reputable, and I had no issues with other aspects of my visit. However, I urge future buyers to confirm the prices they are quoted, especially when working with Mr. Gullett, as his decision created unnecessary stress and wasted both my time and resources. I advise requesting to work with another sales manager if possible to avoid any surprises during negotiations. To help the dealership improve and ensure a more positive experience for all customers, I’d like to offer a few suggestions: 1. Consistency in Pricing: Establish clear protocols to ensure that quoted prices are honored by all staff members, reducing miscommunications and maintaining trust with customers. 2. Improved Training: Provide training for all team members, including sales managers, emphasizing the importance of delivering on promises and the long-term value of building a trusted reputation. 3. Customer-Centric Approach: Develop a stress-free, customer-first environment to ensure that buyers feel confident and supported during the purchase process. 4. Workplace Culture: Invest in employee morale and satisfaction. Happy employees often lead to better customer experiences. Consider initiatives or adjustments to help create a more positive, productive environment for the staff. I share this feedback not to criticize, but to encourage constructive change. This dealership has potential, and I hope to see it grow from experiences like this. If these improvements are made, I would gladly reconsider doing business here in the future. More
Had my 2008 Corvette towed into this dealership as my gear shift was locked in park and it was also leaking power steering fluid. They had my car for eight days before anyone looked at it. When they did, gear shift was locked in park and it was also leaking power steering fluid. They had my car for eight days before anyone looked at it. When they did, they told me that they had to charge me for a diagnostic to find the problems. They diagnosed the problems, and even though I was not asking for this, they also diagnosed that I must need a GM transmission filter service and also a fuel injection service. Why? Because the Carfax doesn’t show these on the record for this vehicle!! Seriously?? Other reviews have mentioned that they try to add other services! Just because Carfax doesn’t show that these have been done?? BTW, the fuel injectors were serviced previously. Then the bill for the other items that I actually came in for - Gear shift cable needs to be replaced - $1318.66 and Power Steering high pressure hose need to be replaced - $1283.61. I got a referral from a friend to an ASE master technician who worked at a Chevrolet dealership (different one) for 20 years, who specializes in Corvette repair - his quotes - $618.17 and $712.45!!! I decided to have it towed to the other shop. Valmark then charges me for two diagnostic fees - one for the gear shift cable $189.95 and one for the power steering $189.95! If that isn’t bad enough, they slap me with extra charges for paying with a credit card!! I paid it and then visited the GM, whose only remark was that it will be cheaper when you go to a “fly by night” mechanic!! Wow! Great service!! This “fly by night” mechanic was trained to ASE master mechanic by Chevrolet and worked there for 20 years!! My bet is that’s more experience that the “fly by night” mechanics at Valmark! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!! More
This was the best experience at a car dealership in our lives. And we hate car dealerships. My wife and I both felt very welcome from the first acknowledgement as we got out of our car, the friendly staff lives. And we hate car dealerships. Not once did we feel like a number or just a sale. We definitely recommend checking out Valmark Chevrolet for your next vehicle. More
Purchased a new 2024 Corvette L3. Owned the car for about 6 months. While having the car detailed, we noticed some stitching in the dash area that was not as it should be. A door pane Owned the car for about 6 months. While having the car detailed, we noticed some stitching in the dash area that was not as it should be. A door panel also had some discoloration that was just not acceptable. Took the car in, Jonathon was no help. A female took pics of the areas that were defected. They came back and denied the warranty claim. They say that its not a workmanship issue, its not Chevrolets issue. I'm a widow and I'm the only person that gets in the car. Its garage kept and have it professionally cleaned and maintained often. If its not Chevrolets issue, then I'll never buy another Chevrolet and I will never recommend this dealer to anyone. Matter of fact, ill tell anyone that asks about my car, where not to buy a Chevrolet. More
This is my second purchase from ValMark. Donald was excellent at helping me order my cute 2024 Chevy Trax. He kept me informed as we waited 5 months for it to arrive. If he is still there in Donald was excellent at helping me order my cute 2024 Chevy Trax. He kept me informed as we waited 5 months for it to arrive.
