Dzimitry used a bait and switch technique when negotiating the price on my new car. He showed me one price (the bait) but then seemed to notice that there was a mistake. Bait and switch is very effective because the bait hooks you and shuts down your critical reasoning (I was on the fence about buying a car until that point).
