My experience at Van Chevrolet started off great. My sales rep was awesome. I came in looking for a truck and they had the perfect one. From the start I mentioned that if a deal was to be done that I would have to have third party mechanic look the truck over before I signed all the papers. I was told by my sales rep this would be fine but they would not likely fix anything based on my mechanics opinion/finding. I said I understood but for my peace of mind I need my mechanic to look it over. After some negotiations we come to an agreement on the monthly payment I was looking for, this is where this experience turns south. Finance manager comes to me to sign the tentative agreement and says to me this deal is for today. I then stated “you mean Monday after my mechanic looks it over”. He says to me “ No, this deal is buy today deal only, I don’t allow my cars be looked at by other mechanics”. I then pull up the text message conversation that I had with sales rep that said I can take the car to my mechanic. He steps away for a min and comes back to me and just speaks very rudely and down to me like I am an idiot. He spoke to me with 0% respect and talked as if I hadn’t been upfront about my intentions the entire time. I am very disappointed in the interaction I had at Van Chevrolet. I was 100% ready to buy since they got me to the monthly payment I was needing. No manager ever called to apologize. I was just told it was a one off incident and it just came down to a miss communication. Would not admit they were in the wrong. Worst customer service experience I have ever had. More
My husband and I were in Kansas City and found a 2010 Honda Odyssey that we wanted to purchase at Van Subaru. We found it online Sunday but they weren’t open till Monday morning. We decided to stop when driving by Sunday and saw no sold signs on the vehicle compared to other ones with signs stating they were sold. We decided to book a hotel for the night so we could go first thing Monday morning because we were so interested. We cancelled an appointment and called in for work so we could purchase the car in the morning. We showed up at Van Subaru at 07:30 in morning to be there first thing when opened. When workers showed up we inspected the car and even test drove it. It was perfect for us considering I am expecting in a few weeks and we need a big vehicle for our family. We signed all the paperwork with our salesman and watched him write “SOLD” on the key tags in front of us. We then completed some paperwork in the finance office to purchase the car with a CASH purchase but as we were finishing up we were interrupted. Our salesman came in saying he got a call from the “general manger Ryan” from Van Chevrolet in Kansas City stating “He sold the vehicle Saturday night after hours to a women who was coming from Arkansas to get the vehicle.” After us questioning it with us already filling out all the paper work and us being able to provide the payment right then before the other person the only thing they could say was that this general manger Ryan “calls the shots”. He did not come over to talk to us in person to explain the situation or apologize for the wasted time. Instead he had co-workers do it for him. My husband had to walk over to the Van Chevrolet to speak directly to him. He never stood up out of his chair, offer a handshake or any type of real apology. He made statements like “Who drives 4 hours to buy a car on a whim” “Why didn’t you make an appointment”. Instead of even attempting to make the situation right. He tried to put the blame on us the customers and took no responsibility for his mistake of “selling the vehicle” but apparently not telling anyone else or marking it as sold. Bought a 23 trailblazer that was to come with heavy duty, all weather floor mats. It didn't have the floor mats in it, and we were told they were on backorder. That was in May. Now my husband can't even get all weather floor mats. It didn't have the floor mats in it, and we were told they were on backorder. That was in May. Now my husband can't even get a return call or text, after being told all the new vehicles are coming in with the floor mats. We want the mats or a check since we paid for them. Communication is non existent and just a run around kind of feel. I do not recommend this dealership. More

I went to look at a used car there and they immediately wanted me fill out paperwork. The car was not available because it was in the back getting worked on. Extremely dishonest. I called to offer full price for a vehicle they advertised on Cars.com. Had to have my 2015 Buick LaCrosse towed to this dealership since my plan covers the selling dealership for towing. Car was dropped off on Monday December 27th with an electrical issue. I received a call from the dealership late on Monday to let me know that I would get a call on Tuesday with a diagnosis. I received a call from the service advisor, Conner on Tuesday to let me know they were going to look at the car that day (told me they had been very busy) and I should hear back later that day. That phone call did not come on Tuesday or Wednesday. I called back on Thursday AM and Conner was not available. I spoke with a different advisor, but he told me the notes weren't great and he would call me back later on Thursday to let me know what was going on. All I kew at that point was that a 230 amp fuse for the battery fuse block had been ordered. No call on Friday, and the following weekend was the New Year's weekend, so I had celled in three different times to get information, and the service advisor to whom I was assigned had reached out one time in 4 days, mostly to let me know he didn't know the status of the vehicle, and that he would call me back. Come Monday January 3rd, I called once again, and spoke with Malik(sp), who it turns out was the ONLY person to keep his word and actually call me back. I received a voice mail at 2:30 on Monday afternoon from Conner to let me know the car was finished. Picked the vehicle up not knowing what the total cost would be, as I was never given an opportunity to approve or deny the service needed to complete the repairs. All in all, since I had no choice but to tow the car to Van Chevrolet, I'll give them one star for not losing my vehicle. Based on the other "customer service" I received, I still feel this is extremely generous. What a poor experience I had at dealership today when I took my car in for vibration issues. I was told the tires have flat spots because I don't drive my car enough. From viewing to negotiations to finance was Good experience.. gentleman had attitude when we turned down extended warranty and gap insurance.
