The service advisor Ruben Barrera had very poor handling in my case for engine recall. Not only did he have poor service and wrong information; but also his whole department. This review is about the experience I had with their pre-owned sales staff. I had narrowed my car search down to two models and the one Van Nuys had was my preferred car. The vehicle was not in a driveable condition and the sales rep said that a rodent must have gnawed through a wire overnight. Huh? I asked what repairs had been made to the vehicle after they purchased it. We went inside the shop where a screen showed several repairs including brakes. It also indicated that the struts were leaking and there was possible damage in the wheel wells. No repairs were scheduled. We went back to the showroom and the salesman pitched me on the $1,800 of dealer recommendations. I declined and asked for a discount. The manager didn't seem to listen. The sales rep said that if I hadn't asked for what was repaired, I would have bought the car since it was a good deal. End of conversation. More
