outstanding customer service Just bought a beautiful used car, from the minute we walked in til the time we left everyone treated us with class and respect. the salesman Nasir(not Just bought a beautiful used car, from the minute we walked in til the time we left everyone treated us with class and respect. the salesman Nasir(not sure I spelt his name right) and used car sales manager made our experience a very pleasant one, at no time were we rushed nor and anytime did they try and push us into anything. They made sure we got what we wanted for the price we could afford, they explained about the gap insurance which I highly recommend, we also bought the warranty which I also would recommend for peace of mind, however they didnt push us into getting it they explained what they are and what they cover. Over all I rate vandergriff toyota a 10 plus More
Do your research, don't take the deal for the face value I called Chris Witherspoon when I saw an ad for a used Hyundai Elantra on cars.com and we quickly set up an appointment on the phone. As a first time I called Chris Witherspoon when I saw an ad for a used Hyundai Elantra on cars.com and we quickly set up an appointment on the phone. As a first time car buyer with a beginner's credit score, I was still offered to finance a car which really impressed me. Even though Chris was eager to close the deal (like any salesman is) he was willing to work out a deal that benefitted both parties. After looking at a couple cars, I decided to get a used 2015 Toyota Camry but had a strong buyer's remorse right afterwards when I realized I could have opted not to pay for the GAP Insurance and the 2-year extended warranty. Also, I got my head wrapped up in the monthly payments and ignored the bottom line (big mistake). I ended up going back to the dealership and they told me that "I needed the warranty to qualify for the loan" and that "they suffered a loss at the front-end of the deal" But, eventually they helped me take the GAP insurance off and reduced the cost of the warranty. Bottom line - they only sell good and reliable cars here (so don't even worry about that) but do some homework on what kind of deal you are willing and able to accept (don't just take everything on the deal for face value). Overall, I only have good feelings for my car and this dealership and all the people who helped me. I love the car and it is every bit what I expected it to be. Better get a car here than any other small time dealerships. More
poor support after purchae I purchased a 2016 Maxima almost three weeks ago. I was told by the salesman Jim Westbrook that the vehicle passed a 21 point inspection. He also pr I purchased a 2016 Maxima almost three weeks ago. I was told by the salesman Jim Westbrook that the vehicle passed a 21 point inspection. He also promised me that a clear coat had been applied to the paint on the vehicle. Delivery of the vehicle was poor at best. I had to return the next day to have the car re-detailed and also there was no fuel upon delivery. Last week I noticed a discoloration on the roof of the car due to the clear coat and also the brakes had began to squeak. I called Jim he asked me to bring the car back to him today, which I did. He told me the discoloration was do to bird droppings and that the brakes were squeaking because of the rain. I am very disappointed in the support I have received. The brakes upon inspection have very little pad left on them and the discoloration is not due to bird droppings it is due to a poor clear coat being applied. I am a school teacher so I do not have a lot of money to spend on things that are unnecessary. I consider having to due this type of work on a used car for which I am paying a total of 26,000 unnecessary. As the vehicle should not need any work done to it all, because of the promises made of the inspection and clear coat. I chose your dealership because I was referred by my district. I am sorry I purchased with your dealership. I expected Jim and your service department to hold true to their word. I also purchased a maintenance package with the dealership which I do not intend to used due to the lack of professionalism and support. I am writing to you so that you will be aware of why I will not be referring your dealership to any of my colleagues, friends or family. I am driving a car that is less than a month old and I am having to purchase brakes and to correct the mistakes of your paint department. Once again I am very disappointed this is not the type of service I would expect from a reputable dealership such as yours. More
Buyer beware! Let me begin by saying that I’m an educated person, and this was not my first rodeo buying a car. I believe I got a pretty fair price on the vehicle I Let me begin by saying that I’m an educated person, and this was not my first rodeo buying a car. I believe I got a pretty fair price on the vehicle I purchased, but here is the thing:,I left the dealership and minutes later texted the salesperson who sold me the car and let him know that the headrests were missing for the back seat. I texted to him that I would return to get them. Well, he responded that the car was as is, and that’s the way they received the trade in. Wait.... if you knew the headrests were missing, shouldn’t you have disclosed that? He said we did walk arounds on the car, but he never really noticed they were missing. Ok, what’s your story then? You didn’t notice, or you knew and didn’t tell me? Very bad business practices. After reading the reviews on Yelp (2.5 stars) my eyes were opened. Read those reviews as well as these. It’s not all unicorns and glitter. Very disappointing to be treated this way. I will be spending $650 for new headrests thanks to the lack of information given by the dealership. My advice to them is to get your story straight before you talk to your customers. why do you think people hate buying cars? It’s things like this. Oh, and quit trying to pass that $599 paint protectant on to your customers, it’s so annoying. In fact, it’s insulting to our intelligence. More
Helping a relative, observing the process. Ask for Prosper! I was looking for a Toyota vehicle for a relative online and found what they wanted within their price range at Vandergriff Toyota. I called the deale I was looking for a Toyota vehicle for a relative online and found what they wanted within their price range at Vandergriff Toyota. I called the dealership to see if the vehicle was available, and spoke with salesman Prosper Bankesie. The vehicle was available and I informed Prosper that we planned to drive to the dealership the next day as we lived two hours away. We went to the dealer the next day and met with Prosper. He showed us the vehicle, we test drove it, and my relative decided to purchase. After some negotiation, a purchase price was agreed upon. The purchase and paperwork process was entirely too long considering that my relative was already pre-approved for a car loan with their financial institution. This part of the experience only receives 1 star. It should not take a couple of hours to complete, fax, and sign paperwork. Now, to what was the car buying experience best feature - PROSPER BANKESIE - a 5 star professional I highly recommend this salesman if you are looking to purchase a used vehicle from Vandergriff Toyota. He went above and beyond to accommodate our request for items that were missing from the vehicle. He stayed with us during the entire process and even paired up my relatives phone and made sure all features of the vehicle were explained and understood. From our initial arrival to leaving, we spent about 5hrs at this dealership. As an onlooker watching the whole process, I would ONLY purchase a car from Vandergriff if Prosper was my salesperson. He made the sale and kept the deal together with his attitude, professionalism, and EXCELLENT customer service. Ask for and See Prosper Bankesie - you won't be disappointed! More
Buyer Beware! Read Everything on the Paperwork. I purchased a car from them (BIG MISTAKE). They did three hard pulls on my credit report lowering my score. I just recently found out that the car I t I purchased a car from them (BIG MISTAKE). They did three hard pulls on my credit report lowering my score. I just recently found out that the car I thought I had purchased for 4.5 years turns out to be a 75 month contract. I spoke with the manager today and he came up with some kind of lame duck excuse stating that I was told about this before I went to financing. This is an incorrect statement, I didn't see any paperwork until I sat down in the finance department. I felt like a real idiot when I looked at my monthly statement from the bank where it was financed. After doing the math, I came to realize that I had 22 months left on the note. I have no excuse for missing this. I usually don't trust car dealerships and here's the reason why. They're a bunch of liars and scam artists and will screw someone at the drop of a dime. My car got into an accident shortly after I purchased it and the service department took it upon themselves to repair it how they wanted to and not how I instructed them to. I talked to the body shop manager and he said he would take care of it. Next time I spoke with them was when they called me letting me know it was ready to pick up. They did a poor job on the clean up details. I had to make them take it back to the shop and finish the job. They have VERY POOR, QUALITY CONTROL at this facility!!! Do Not Buy From Them....... I will never buy another one from them. More
Toyota (doesn't) Care I've had horrible customer service there. There's been times I've showed up before the service center closes only to be told they can't help me and I I've had horrible customer service there. There's been times I've showed up before the service center closes only to be told they can't help me and I should bring it back another day. The day before New Years one of my tires was real low and I took it in to air it up since they are filled with Nitrogen and that's the only place I can do it. The roads were supposed to freeze over and I had my wife and newborn in the hospital and they were about to be released. For safety reasons I obviously wanted my tires to be properly inflated and was told that they had already shut down the machines. This was at least 20 min. prior to closing. I was told to bring it back on Tuesday when they would be open again. Why not post on your website what time you actually stop servicing your customers instead of what time you lock the doors. What good is being open if you can't actually help people. I took my truck in on Wed. because of another tire issue and was told they had to plug a hole in the tire that had a nail stuck in it.. Friday morning my tire had gone from 40 psi to 23 psi so I took it in after work and they was told they didn't have anybody to look at it at the time. This was approximately 45 min. before closing. The service person said they would get it fixed on Saturday and for me to bring in my truck since they kept the tire there. I told him I worked all day but would call and check on the status and would try to bring it during lunch. After calling a couple of times and ending up in voicemail, I called back and let them know that I currently didn't have access to my phone and there wasn't a number I could be reached at for the day and I would gladly hold for him if needed. The person that answered the phone came back and said he wan't at his desk and that she would put me through to his voicemail. I explained once again to her that I didn't have access to a phone an I needed to find out if they had fixed the tire so I could go during lunch. She said she didn't know how long I would have to hold for and that I should just call back later. There's several other incidents that have been just as bad regarding my vehicle. More
