We had talked with Fred in advance and told him what kind of vehicle we were looking for and what price range. Within a few days he had called us with just the right vehicle for us to see. When we arrived, the car was ready and waiting for us to test drive. Flaws that he was aware of were pointed out to us and not hidden. Because this was a somewhat unique vehicle (*) compared to what we usually drive, plenty of time was allowed to show us how the vehicle operates. Fred accompanied my husband on the initial test drive to make sure we knew how to operate the vehicle. While I waited for my husband and Fred to return from the initial test drive, several of the sales personnel approached me to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. Because we are not from High Point and not familiar with the roads we were not sure where to test drive the car. Fred explained a very simple route that allowed us to test the vehicle both in city and interstate driving situations. We were then allowed plenty of time to take the car out together so that both of us could test drive it. When we returned, plenty of time was allowed for us to ask questions and address concerns we had noted. We were given very honest and straight forward answers. At no time did we feel pressured or hurried to make a decision. Fred worked hard to make sure the concerns we had were addressed and put in writing in the contract before we closed the deal and to find us an extended warranty that we requested. While we finished up the paperwork, the car was taken for a final clean up before we brought it home even though it looked perfectly clean when we arrived at the dealership. Positives: The price of the vehicle, competitive financing, and option to have it delivered to Maryland sealed the deal. Robert answered all of my questions promptly and provided me with accurate information. He had a good attitude and was very respectful in all correspondence. I felt that he truly worked hard to provide me the exact vehicle that I wanted, on my terms, without haggling or pressure. Areas for improvement: After the vehicle was delivered to Vannyork Toyota, it was discovered there were some options added by the transferring dealer that were not originally accounted for in the previously agreed upon price. The options were going to cost an additional $60.00. I stated that because I did not request the options and it was contrary to the negotiated figure, that I was not going to pay for them. From a customer standpoint, I felt that the dealer should have just eaten the costs without mentioning them after already settling on a price with me. It gives the perception that price inflation is occurring. Also, the delivery timeline could have been clearer to me. I understand that having a vehicle delivered is a great service, but I was not made aware that it would making an intermediate stop in DC instead of being delivered straight to me. Overall: I would buy another vehicle from Vannyork Toyota and will recommend them to my friends. It was a pleasant experience and Robert is professional in his business conduct. More
Overall we had a good expierence at Van York Toyota. We had looked at new cars of various makes at several dealerships and several used by private sellers. Jose was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. We really didn't intend to purchase a new Prius that day. We were on our way to look at a used Prius, but after a session with Jose, and trying out new ones, we finally were convinced that new was probably the best course to take. Plus, they just happened to have a red one that we liked. Jose was very helpful by showing us how to setup Bluetooth and showing us what we needed to know about the car. Only have 100 miles on the car now, but love it so far. We loved Jose's pleasant smile. Hopefully, we will be able to have good expierences with the Service Dept. More
