I gave them my budget and as expected they showed me a car just above that. No biggie, its what most dealers do. During the test drive the salesperson (Keri) told me the car had a V6 engine, and that she knew this because it was the exact same car she owned. It did not. It was a 4-cylinder. I also noticed multiple chips in the windshield. I was told they would be repaired during the detailing and maintenance work that still needed to be done. When it came time to negotiate the price, suddenly the cost was $3k more! They added a program called Car Doc. When I said I wasn't interested they refused to remove the program from the purchase of the vehicle. After some negotiating, we did agree upon a price (Car Doc still included unfortunately I was on a deadline and this was the best car I'd seen after looking for 3 weeks). The negotiated price included a transmission fluid flush (which they used to justify $300 more in the price even though that should have been part of the maintenance they claim they do on all used cars). When I picked the car up, the "professional detailing" they did was nothing more than a standard car wash on the exterior and some light vacuuming inside (I later found pieces of food including an entire potato chip between the seats and console!). The window chips were not repaired (costing me a couple hundred dollars), and they didn't provide a receipt for the transmission fluid flush. I had to threaten the manager with legal action to get it 3 weeks after the purchase. To be honest, at this point, I'm not even sure they DID the flush. Everything about this purchase was dishonest. If I had the time, I would have walked away immediately. Is it a good car? So far yes. Did I over pay, I did and that is my fault for being on a tight schedule. Bottom line, if you can avoid this dealer, do so! More
