Very polite, courteous & honest. The staff made you feel at ease. They were not aggressive at all when I mentioned that I might be interested in a 2026 Atlas SUV. I’m beyond disappointed with my experience at Volkswagen of North Tampa. The entire process felt misleading and aggressively high-pressure from the moment I walked through the door. Before driving an hou of North Tampa. The entire process felt misleading and aggressively high-pressure from the moment I walked through the door. Before driving an hour and a half to this dealership, I spoke directly with the finance manager, provided all of my Capital One pre-approval information, and specifically told them I wanted everything ready before I arrived. I came fully prepared with my driver’s license, insurance information, financing paperwork, and a serious intention to purchase the vehicle. Yet once I arrived, it became obvious nothing had actually been prepared like promised. They were still asking for documents and information I had already discussed beforehand while simultaneously changing numbers, restructuring payments, and adding charges that were never properly disclosed upfront. The vehicle was advertised online around $26,900, and the website specifically stated dealership fees were included in that advertised price. Somehow, once I sat down, the numbers inflated to nearly $32,000 after they added “accessories,” PPP charges, excessive doc fees, and over $2,000 labeled simply as “other fees.” Even though I already had financing through Capital One, they told me my loan was “terrible” and ran my credit through FOUR different banks. Yes, they technically found a slightly lower interest rate, but the payment still ended up much higher because they buried profit inside inflated fees and unnecessary add-ons. The moment I started asking for every fee broken down IN WRITING instead of verbally, the atmosphere completely changed. The finance manager even admitted certain charges could be removed, then later refused to remove them while trying to frame it as though he was “doing me a favor.” As a woman shopping alone, it became painfully obvious they did not expect me to understand financing or question the numbers. Their attitude noticeably shifted once they realized I was actually paying attention. The most disturbing part was hearing the finance manager loudly yelling from the back office where customers could clearly hear him shouting things like, “I’m not going lower!” The atmosphere felt hostile, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. READ YOUR FINE PRINT. Ask for EVERY fee broken down ON PAPER. Do not accept vague verbal explanations. In my opinion, this was a textbook bait-and-switch experience. More
